2.1.1 What is Staff Engagement?
There are many discussions about the employee engagement. Ahmed (2016) stated kahn was the first person bring out this concept as “USE VARYING DEGREES OF THEIR SELVES – PHYSICALLY, COGNITIVELY AND EMOTIONALLY IN WORK ROLE PERFORMANCES”. Staff Engagement is one of the key element to maintain employee morale, loyalty, and achieve customer satisfaction. He also discussed the factors affecting staff engagement as training and development, reward, job security, promotion opportunity, and supervisor relationship. Singh (2016) had added on that and mentioned there is total 8 key factors of successful employee engagement. The remaining 3 factors are nature of the job, pride about company, co-workers.

It also showed in the article that the employee engagement rate of Japan and Singapore is both 9% based on Gallup Organization data in 2004. Even though the importance of Employee Engagement is well understood by organizations but it not in actual practice in the world.

Organizational Support Direct care staff often look to their direct supervisors or the organization itself for support to prevent burnout. The staff’s direct supervisor needs to be aware of the individuals employees stress level. This can be done my spending time with the individual while working directly with individuals and also listening and paying attention to what the staff member is saying. Many human service organizations offer very generous paid time off packages to their employees so that the employees have the opportunity to take time off for themselves or their families. While the paid time off package is nice the organizations need to look at other options as well to keep valuable employees and reduce burnout.
Working within our school setting  we work in an open and transparent manor This includes ensuring , all doors have glass panels in or be left open so that we can be seen as we teach, this is set in place to discourage any false allegations of occurrences of abuse as it can be disproved and can also protect teachers them self from having abuse. By doing so we are allowing open teaching which can dissolve any accusations made by either students or staff. Listening to children-  All staff members to ensure they make time to listen to their pupils as it could raise concern regarding the child’s welfare as when a child is willing to speak and feels comfortable and safe enough to open up it is the staffs duty to ensure this child is listened to and taken seriously.

Naveenshahi (2013) said that Disney often focuses on people and creates a happy environment for their employees and makes them loyal to the company. To achieve the high engagement of employees, they hire and train the employees, create enthusiasm through communication and always put people at first.
