In the 21st century global industry, many manufacturing companies have been keen to implement the new strategy and new management techniques especially automotive manufacturing company and modern production for the competitiveness and efficiency of the company. They have taken a system which is lean manufacturing as a management tool. Many of them have adopted this technique under different names and in various forms. Lean manufacturing started at Toyota factories in Japan, known as the Toyota Production System (TPS). Lean manufacturing has been widely known and implemented since 1960. In today manufacturing environment, manufacture mode is taken lean manufacturing as a standard mainly for the automotive industry. 2) To find out problem related SMED process at B-Line stamping.
3) To run the existing SMED problem using Witness Simulation software.
4) To suggest improvement based on the simulation.

1.5 SCOPE OF STUDY

In order to achieve the objectives of this study, the process in stamping line are studied. The process in stamping line such as die change, die transportation, preparation of the stamping before and after, and stamping line environment are being observed. Normally, this type of operation perform so many complex movement and process and there will be wastes because of it. So, it is very suitable to implement lean manufacturing. The database was obtained at the National Car stamping line by the observation and data collection. The data then are analyzed and simulation was conducted to get the actual result and after then the suitable tools or improvements are made from the data and observation. The analysis for this study is conducted by using Witness simulation
