We the people should stand up against gun violence. Life is a natural right. Killing is against the law, so why is it we give the "proper authorities" the right to kill those they feel threatened by? Why is it that it 's ok to kill someone if they did something against the rules? Killing them won 't change anything! It will only get rid of them, and now when same situation occurs again you will do the same thing? It will be a cycle of death. The amount of people killed by the police is way to high. I don 't think it is right for those who enforce the law to break the law. It is devastating the amount of death that goes on because of a simple solution that can be solved by just talking. They should be no reason for anyone being hot headed,
The subject of gun control is hotly debated not only by the media and special interest groups but also by law enforcement agencies, and ordinary citizens alike. Some feel that since the Second Amendment was written before the advent of modern firearms that it is outdated. Others believe that it is an inalienable right that must be preserved in order for Americans to remain a free people. The Second Amendment states: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. ”(archives.gov)
Gun control is a big issue being discussed in America. Many events in the past 5 years give us reason to discuss the issue of guns. Some examples being the Sandy Hook school shooting around 4 years ago. A mentally unstable man had access to a gun, went to school where his mother was teaching, and killed many children, teachers, and other staff members. Why should others be harmed when they did nothing at all?
But I feel until there is a real deterrent effect put in place for officers we will continue to see a high volume of use of force in our country. Prosecutors and the courts would have to come together to help deter the amount of use of force because they untimely have the most power even more than the agency. If officers begin to feel that there is a high consequence for unnecessary use of force they will begin to think twice about how they go about encounters with civilians. Police agencies will also have to go more in depth with officers to inform them on use of force and that it will not be tolerated. I feel like that could be the easiest step to help to eliminate it.
I think this is sad. I hate that guns are always put into the wrong hands of certain people. I think that this may show that Chicago need more police enforcement in many areas of the city. It 's may also show how gun increases city crimes or murder rates of people. Gun violence has to stop if not the people and the city will suffer as a whole.
The beginning of our U.S. Constitution starts with, "We the people," and that alone tells us how much power we have as citizens of the United States of America. Government officials and the people in office play major roles in changing and improving gun laws, but it is also up to the people to come together and form a voice. I believe if the people took a stand a lot more progress in making America safer would come about. As American citizens, we have the power to come together and develop ideas in which we can write up bills and laws. Taking advantage of our right to assemble, and our freedom to come together and mold laws within America is something that all Americans should be grateful for.
Due to my passion to help stop gun violence, I decided to do project, on preparing an effective gun violence speech more specifically formulating a speech for President Barack Obama. In this month alone in the United States, we have had more than three counts of mass shooting and of October 21st 2015, there was also another mass shooting in the United States. With so many shooting and death totals, gun violence has because a novelty because everyone citizens, public and the media all have their versions or opinions to the current situation. With gun violence being widespread, there are numerous accesses to information’s regarding gun in general and due to numerous accesses to information’s, the interested party has accesses to either conduct or explore a research.
Chicago has had its ups and downs in the cities violent history, but early 2016 to present has been an exception. Chicago increased in homicides by 59 percent in 2016 and it has only become worse since then with a 29 percent increase in just the first few months of 2017 (Asher, FiveThirtyEight.com; Ford, The Atlantic). It is obvious that something needs to be done, but so far there have not been any major changes made or drastic measures taken in order to improve Chicago’s current state of being. Right now, the three most predominant causes are Chicago’s Police, Chicago’s many gangs, and firearms, hand guns in particular. If the city wants to make any improvements whatsoever then it needs act decisively on gangs and guns, start using different
Thesis 1: Charlton Heston is directly responsible for the large amount of gun ownership in America and is thus responsible for the large amount of gun related violence in America. If he stopped his rallying then gun violence would drop. Response: I disagree with this statement because Charlton Heston only promotes legal ownership of guns, and he does not support any form of violence and only encourages guns be used for self defence.
What’s missing from the typical kindergartener’s backpack? A gun. The ultimate solution to gun violence is more guns, isn’t that obvious? We are in need of guns everywhere to the point where our nation needs armed guards in every school. They say the more guns we have, the more gun violence there is, but in fact it does the complete opposite and solves gun violence.
We have traded the respect for life over clinging to our guns out of the fear of losing them. If we once again learn to appreciate the value of life, society will then decide to do whatever is right to protect life, as this right should supersede any other right afforded to us by our
Gun Violence In America Gun violence in america accounted for 33,636 deaths in 2015 alone and that number is only rising. If every american was able to obtain a firearm imagine what the numbers of gun related deaths. Even gun related injuries caused many more hospital visits in america what many other common incidents. That is why america needs to implement tighter gun laws to reduce the amount of gun violence in America. Without this we will continue to see shooting, gun death, gun injuries resulting in more and more gun related violence.
Attention Getter: Between 1993 and 2003 gun ownership increased by 56 percent, and yet gun violence declined by almost 50 percent (Bandler). Criminals know that if people have guns to protect themselves then they might not be successful in a shooting. Gun Regulation is immoral because Guns are not what kill people. It is the people who use the guns to kill people, who kill people. Many of these people who cause these mass shooting and killings have mental health issues.
How to reduce gun violence " In the 1960's, there was one school shooting. In the 1980's, there were 27. In the 1990's, there were 58. In the past decade, there have been over 120" (Hoehn).
PERSUASIVE SPEECH Choong Hwan Park Speech 101 Attention Getter: using the video that shows gun violence for 15 seconds. Thesis: In order to solve gun violence, only government officers such as police, firemen, or soldiers should be able to possess guns and civilians should not be able to own guns for any reason. Credibility: Since I was a little kid, I watched a lot of news that was related to gun violence in the U.S. Now that I am living in the United States, I sometimes feel that I am not safe when I take the subway or walk the streets at night.
Most of the time the cop is trying to do his job, but when they do, to the best to their ability, they get scolded. This would discourage future cops from entering service and without those to enforce the law the law can’t take place. Without law there will be disorder and our country would crumble. America, as a nation, is the top superpower of the world that is suppose to support the right thing. If the problem on the homefront is taken care of there probably won’t be an America anymore, just a uncivilized mass at constant war.
