In Patrick Henry’s “Speech in the Virginia Convention,” his use of pathos was effective in convincing the audience of the convention. He used emotions such as disgust and abhorrence, but also hope.

In Patrick Henry's speech to the Second Virginia Convention, he uses a metaphor to compare the conflict between the colonists and Britain to a storm. He talks about everything the colonists have already done to resolve the tension with Britain. Henry then tries to convince those listening to his speech that fighting is their only option

A role of an individual in society can be played many ways, one of them being that people should fight for their country. This can be exhibited in "Speech to the Virginia Convention" by Patrick Henry ,where Henry believes his country should fight for freedom against the British. He is calling on the patriots of Virginia to arm themselves in order to be prepared to fight the British if they do not yield to some of their demands. The author encourages this message by their emotional appeals and literary devices. In the text, the author exposes the audience to prepare for war by conveying them to fight for their country.

Patrick Henry was a successful leader during the American Revolution. Also he was a governor. Henry gave many effective speeches during his lifetime. The speech that was most effective was the Speech in the Virginia Convention given on March 23, 1775. This speech used great examples of literary terms such as ethos, pathos, and logos to help make the speech more effective.

I am going to give you many facts about West Virginia. Some of them may be boring to you but for me they are all interesting. I am doing this because it is one of the end of the year projects. Henry uses the rhetorical devices of repetition and pathos to effectively get his point across. Henry uses the rhetorical device of repetition through repeatedly referring to the choice of freedom or slavery. He says this more than one time to try and get his point across the the delegates that he is talking to. He believes that american should be free and if we do not become free soon that the british are going to start to treat us like slaves. Alabama is considered one of the poorest states in the nation when it comes to funding education, yet it still does not have a state lottery. Let us start out by asking ourselves some questions. Would you like free money to help pay for college? What about funding for education in general? If you have or plan to have children would you like for your children to have the opportunity to attend a pre-kindergarten program? How about having the opportunity at a chance to win money? These programs could all be funded if Alabama had a state lottery. Let us consider why Alabama does not have a state lottery and why it should consider having one in the future.
