Statement Of Purpose
“The future belongs to those who believe in their dreams”. I have always believed in this quote to inspire me in my life. Therefore, since my childhood I enthusiastically endorsed that engineering is an important factor in our life, and the foundation on which humankind builds its world. Also, engineers can shape the world into a better and more sustainable place to live. So, I have persevered to do as much as I can to be in the right bath in order to become an influent engineer, who can make a difference in people’s life.
“Education is a tool that puts one on a fast track to acquiring knowledge and personality that sets one apart from the crowd. It is one bottom less hole; no matter how much one pours himself into it, he thirsts for more”. Being influenced by this adage, I fulfilled high records in my school days, starting with elementary school, I was chosen the ideal student, as well as, wining the prize of the best academic performance in high school. Needless to say, in this period my fascination in engineering was increased enormously. Thus, I chose civil engineering readily, as specialization to continue my undergraduate in the University of Khartoum, which considered as the most prominent and reputable university in Sudan.
During my study in the university I was introduced to wide range of subjects, such as mathematics, management, structure analysis and design, transportation, water resource management. In these years, I intended to gain
With this in mind, my greatest desire is to receive not only an outstanding technical education but also grow as a conscientious and socially responsible individual. In the next four years, I envision myself in an environment that fosters a genuine sense of family among motivated students. I want to belong to a school where I can develop in character as well as in my Catholic faith, even in the midst of rigorous academic work. I look forward to a career in applied sciences, with one foot in the laboratory and the other in the real world. I daydream about discovering creative avenues for positive change and inspiring others to innovate solutions for the complex challenges of our modern
Governor’s School Essay Response Ever since I was young you could always find me toying around with objects trying to figure out how they worked. Taking them apart, studying them, and then reconstructing them back together was a usual past time for me. Looking back I realized that all of the time I spent on learning how something worked was the foundation that flourished into my passion for engineering.
The design challenges presented by my dream kindle my passion for engineering. As a female engineer, I anticipate encountering numerous obstacles in the pursuit of my career. Despite my passion and ambition, some will view me as less capable than a man. I refuse to let these obstructions crush my ambition.
I had to design a 30 storey residental structure in ETABS and SAP as well as performed VBA modeling in Excel to obtain the Center of Rigid (COR) of the building to optimize steel requirements from the effect of torsion. Also, I was assigned to design two foundation types: shallow foundation and reinforced concrete pile foundation. Additionally, I had to prepare and delivered presentation on the importance of quality checks and safety at the construction site. Armed with sound training in basic theories and applied technology, I put them into pratice by participating many summer interships. These practical experiences gave me opportunities to involve in all practical steps in design and construction of structures.
This module and coursework requirements were directed to present some crucial and effective experience for me. During the entire course, I had learnt a number of different learning, which can be proved quite helpful for me to build a successful and attractive career ahead. I can present the significance of the coursework activities done in terms of my learning from this subject. The reflection of the coursework learning can be presented as below: Problems faced during the research work: Although I have been able to finish my coursework requirements within the time frame.
The same virtues that Aristotle argued are also applied to the professional and social life of engineers. This paper argues that the virtues of courage, honesty and fairness are constantly invoked by the golden rule mean in the field of engineering. To provide an example as a student, these traits have yet to be achieved. In fact, they may take a lifelong experience and habituation to reach them. On the other hand, patience and perseverance are two excellences that have been achieved and can be pertinent to accomplishing the foregoing
Basically it is because even though we are developing, we are This planet earth that we are living on is also one the factor of why I choose to be an engineer. Back then, human being used to live in a proper environment, lesser pollution and vary sources of energy. However, as we all know that time has changed everything, we are running out of energy. For me, the most important thing for engineer to discuss is to create new sources of energy without affecting our world. This have hurt enough and instead of hurting it more we should healing it.
Very similar to real life engineering, we are tasked with designing and constructing various projects based on a set of requirements or problems. I have always been incredibly successful in this class achieving high marks, and in grade 11 receiving the award for the highest mark for my grade. Although not a prerequisite for any engineering programs, I believe that it greatly benefits all potential engineering students. It puts our teachings into practice to solve real life situations, giving us a preview into the future as engineers. Scheduling conflicts prevented me from taking this great course in grade 12.
In utilitarian and Kantian view of ethics, such virtuous values are not taken into consideration. This short paper suggests how future engineers should apply the virtues and excellences in their fields and why virtuous engineers are more likely to contribute to society and make it better. In Aristotle’s view, virtue(arête) is defined as an essential factor to achieve happiness of an individual, while happiness(eudaimonia) is defined as an ultimate objective of human-being. Aristotle insisted that the order of priority may decide whether one’s goal should be considered as a means or the goal itself.
For example, my experience as a student already proven to me that theoretical knowledge I learned in class like structures and machinery, engineering, circuit theory and software not only important for the exams, but it is also important for me to implement it during my troubleshooting analysis so that machine problem might be solved at the required set of time. Finally, the knowledge in the field of Electrical will able to help me in identifying, study and solve the problems I will encounter during work.
The principle reason that motivated me to pursue the MSc Project Management course is the appeal and challenge Project Managers experience in delivering assignments they undertake in their career. The qualification, indeed, lead to very smart and modern careers for graduates who love challenges, creativity, leadership and success. As a graduate of Mathematics, I have cultivated these features in my student life. Now, for my master level of study, I would like to take my chance of attaining formal skills in the area of project management. From my research, I see that Project Management is the application of skills, knowledge and techniques to meet the objectives of a project and stake holder’s expectations.
This essay will discuss the statement with the aid of Mathematics and Natural sciences as the two areas of knowledge. The reason that attracted me to discuss this knowledge question is that it was the title that evoked the most reaction and emotion from me. As a student who wants to specialize in the field of engineering, I thought writing this essay would be a fascinating opportunity to explore the definition of application and the value of knowledge application and value especially caught my eye. I decided that the most suitable areas of knowledge to discuss this statement were
From stair-climbing wheelchair to prosthetic mind-controlled limbs - the rate of innovative products developed for the less fortunate people in the society is increasing. My long-term goal is to inspire the next generation of researchers to develop computational methods and optimization techniques that would help in creating products to aid differently abled people. I believe that making small changes to the design conceptualization methods will have a great impact on the efficient design of products. I believe that choosing a career as a professor will be a cardinal step towards reaching my long-term goal. Being a professor is the best platform for developing knowledge on computational design by doing what I'm truly excited, namely, learning
By taking courses at PEARL, I hope to utilize my knowledge to solve practical problems in the
Personal Statement of Purpose I, Nilay Pramodbhai Patel, take this opportunity to introduce myself as a graduate of Mechanical Department from Gujarat Technological University, Gujarat. I now want to take the next step by specialising in Global Production Engineering (Manufacturing) by undertaking and pursing my postgraduate studies at Technical University of Berlin in the specialism mentioned.
