For all of my life, I have had a skill and a great interest in the design and construction of a variety of objects and machinery. I have known since day one that all i wanted to do is design brand new and innovative technology. I have chosen Waterloo as my first choice of education for my future career as a mechanical engineer for many reasons. One being the schools amazing reputation as a school of applied sciences, having been given the nickname “MIT of the north” by many. I know a few people who have attended this University.
To achieve this, I would be interested in gaining exposure to the cutting edge technologies in the area of Electrical Engineering. Being a dynamic and ever evolving field, many new developments are expected and there is immense scope for new applications. It is only after careful consideration of my interests and aptitude while pursuing my under graduate studies that I have decided to pursue my masters in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electronics and Wireless Communication. The distinguished faculty and excellent facilities at Tampere University of Technology (TUT) make its graduate program ideally suited to my goals. The flexibility of the curriculum will give me the broad-based education I need to widen the scope of my knowledge and skills.
I sincerely believe that graduation at Windsor University will be an ideal step in this direction. My fascination towards Civil Engineering began at an early age when I saw construction of some unique structure in front of me. I always tried to the best of my ability to pursue my interests and this resolute passion propelled me to choose Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as major subjects in high school as I knew that they were my forte. This interest developed into a determination to study the subject deeply and contribute to original research in the field which led to me selecting Civil Engineering as my core field for my undergraduate studies. It was the field of Construction Management which particularly captured my interest.
SAMPLE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE – MECHANICAL ENGINEERING Since from my childhood, my interest is always been with mechanical devices. I always wanted to know how devices work.ie from designing to manufacturing. My curiosity on devices made me disassemble and reveal the inner functions of them. Support from my parents, encouragement from teachers and my keen interest in science and technology, made me choose to engineer as the perfect career choice. Right from the beginning of my education I have shown a keen interest in mathematics and physics that have strengthened my quantitative and analytical skills.
This fueled my curiosity and inspired me to choose courses related to Mechanical Engineering discipline for undergraduate study. In college, my interest and imagination were strengthened by courses like Strength of Materials, Theory of Machines, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics they being natural extensions of physics and also demanded a high
This was the case until I enrolled and began attending college courses. Being immersed in engineering courses has taught me the true value of engineering, not only on society, but on a personal level as well. Moreover, my goal to be an engineer is not only based on a promising career prospects and an opportunity to do something interesting, but it
The thought of entering into service industry where knowledge of processes, product cycles, and quality controls are essential brought out the fact that my present levels of knowledge is inadequate though I kept in touch with developing manufacturing trends through journals, industrial visits, conferences and interactions with industrial experts. In India, with an ever expanding manufacturing base and new enterprises starting daily, there is a requirement for Industrial Engineering specialization and I hope to start my own manufacturing Industry after my graduation or after a couple of years of experience as an Industrial Engineer hence my quest for a strong background in Industrial Engineering. With a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from University, I would be able to bring my past knowledge and work experience to the full potential and gain these skills for a maximum career impact. After graduating with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering, I see myself either starting my own manufacturing industry or working as an independent consultants or with consulting firms providing business solutions for global clients or work with governments providing efficient, innovative industrial
Each new concept put forth a new question but I wasn’t able to define it. Hence my journey began in search of those answers. I always envisaged myself to become an engineer, where in I could detect the problem just by difference in sound. As I was introduced to various theories & principles in physics, my inquisitiveness turned into passion. As I grew older, my childhood infatuation for machines flourished.
Having secured an overall aggregate of 96.8% and emerging a School topper in the higher secondary examinations, I was able to pursue my undergraduate program at the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, one of the oldest and prestigious engineering institutions in India. CEG was in fact the first university in India to offer Mechanical Engineering course. Getting an admission in Mechanical Engineering branch at one of India’s top universities was something I had never imagined in my wildest dreams. A fact that has fascinated me since my school days is that all technological components, be it an I.C chip or an aircraft, are ultimately involved with a certain amount of heat transfer. During my undergraduate studies, I started taking a penchant for the courses related to thermal sciences such
Communication engineering has become the most dynamic domain in information science technology, especially the areas like Microelectronics, which enabled our life to reach an unprecedented convenience in information conveying and acquisition. In China, microelectronics will have very broad prospects for development and the professionals in this area will also be in critical shortage in the future job market. By this way, pursuing more advanced education in microelectronics in your university is my optimal choice. In my high school years, I paid special attention and showed high curiosity to those knowledge and information about electro-communication and found that my aptitude at the scientific courses like physics, chemistry and mathematics
