Through my curiosity in my current Honors Biology course, I want to be able to learn more about this fascinating topic outside of the classroom. There’s so much to science and I simply do not know where to go. While I love learning about biology, there’s only so much to do. This year, we have only been covering the general background on ecological and molecular biology. I feel as if there is still so much more to learn. The medical institute at Georgetown University would be an amazing opportunity for me to explore more than just simple high school biology. Instead of having biology for eighty minutes every other day at my school, having to learn about science for seven straight days would allow me to learn so much more. Instead of sitting
Membership in Ball State University's Honors College presents an opportunity for me to be surrounded by peers who share a similar commitment to academic excellence. I am eager to build beneficial connections with like-minded students who take their education seriously. Furthermore, I look forward to interacting with professors who will challenge me to grow to my full potential. I believe that this stimulating and rigorous academic environment will push me to excel academically and personally.
I’m Melanie Lint from Johnstown, Pennsylvania and I’m writing to you because I am interested in playing softball at Virginia Tech. Not only am I interested in your excellent softball team, I am also interested in your advanced Pre-Veterinary program. While viewing your college page and softball stats, I’ve noticed that one of your pitchers will have graduated by my graduating year, and the other will be a senior. You built the program up so much since you got hired in 1995 and I would love to be part of it.
I would like to attend Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi because it has one of the best nursing programs. I have been accepted into this university. It is close to my hometown which makes me feel safe. Attending the university will be a good experience for me.
I want to be admitted into UW Oshkosh to help me have a better education and brighter future. My high school diploma is the foundation of my education but my college education will be the main structure for my future. UW Oshkosh will provide me with more than just a degree, it will provide me with an experience that I don’t think I can find in any other college. I know UW Oshkosh is the right college for me. I am a good student for UW Oshkosh because I plan to be an involved member of the Oshkosh campus community, I am a hard worker, and I know getting a degree is how I will obtain a career I want.
From the very onset of my undergraduate career, I knew two things: I wanted to be a physician and I wanted to return home to work in my community. Growing up in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, I was brought up in a rural, medically under-served area. Lack of facilities, short handed manpower, and patient ignorance of medical information all contribute to a rather rocky health care system within the community. Once I arrived to Xavier, I quickly joined a research lab, and have gained over 1000 hours of lab work. Additionally, through my research experiences, I gained immense amounts of both scientific and medical knowledge.
My academic goals after I graduated from UC Irvine is to achieve a higher education beyond a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Sciences. I have set going to dental school as a primary goal after graduating. My goal is to eventually obtain a D.D.S (Doctor of Dentist Surgery) degree. Working towards a specialty is an interest that I am very curious in pursuing; however, as of now becoming a general dentist is my main goal. What factor(s) made you interested in studying in the Biological/Biomedical School:
Getting great grades sets you on the path to a great big world of opportunities. On the other hand, service, character and leadership help separate the stellar, from the great in the final determination. The National Honors Society is an organization looking to recruit all the stellar students, and these kids are the ones who improve the schools and communities of this nation. Kids with character help keep kindness flowing around the world. Along with character, kids that volunteer and provide service for their communities help improve the lives for everyone around them.
As a person who strives to achieve for the best, being a part of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) would clearly elevate my position beyond what I have achieved. The society consists of outstanding students who have the characteristics from the 5 everyday pillars of NJHS- scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. It is not the average organization where anyone can join, but I believe that I, Dexin Kong, fit into these five categories from what I keep as morals and my actions throughout middle school. Scholarship is something that I hold in high regard- and with this, I like to think that all my hard work will pay off in the future to allow me to reach great achievements through high school, college, and a career.
I would have the opportunity, not only to shape my own education, but to have the chance to improve the medical school system. It also allows for modernization in teaching methods, such as simulation-based training. I already tend to use hands-on and visual learning methods in studying and so this would help me immensely in succeeding while enjoying the material being taught. We did a lot of simulation-based learning in my EMR class and it was my favorite part of the course. I was also attracted by the WMed approach to teaching through teamwork.
I am eager to attend the USNA Summer STEM due to my strong interest in all disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. My future plan is to attend the United States Naval Academy, study Nuclear Engineering and serve my country for life. Over the past six years, I have served my country in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. I have accumulated a vast knowledge of the STEM field during my numerous week long trainings at Naval Base Coronado, MCB Camp Pendleton, SS Lane Victory, & Pt. Mugu Naval Air Station.
I am extremely honored to be eligible for this opportunity to apply for the National Honor Society. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society has been a goal I set for myself since I was a student in middle school. I have been greatly looking forward to this moment for a very long time. Overall, I have worked incredibly hard these last two years to display a positive character and obtain qualities such as leadership, responsibility, and scholarship. I strongly believe I will be a productive and reliable member of the National Honor Society at Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School.
Why do I want to be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority incorporated? Since I was a little girl I had grown up on the expectation that once I got to college I would pursue joining the organization Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority incorporated. Because this was instilled in me since I could really talk I never really question the idea. But once I got to college I began to truly question why I wanted to be a member.
“A winner is a dreamer who never gives up”- Nelson Mandela When I dream about who and where I want to be in the future, I know I don't have any plans on giving up on my goals. It is an honor to be nominated for the National Junior Honor Society. I believe that being in NJHS will help me continue to work toward and achieve my goals of developing my social, and leadership skills as well as community involvement, all of which will be beneficial in the future. Being in NJHS would be a great opportunity for me to be surrounded by others who share similar goals and aspirations. Furthermore, I feel that being a member will be a great opportunity to be a part of a community that teaches and helps you grow in different skills such as, how to become
I am interested in Howard University because it is an HBCU that encompass the themes of cultural diversity and education. Your commitment to scholars ensures me that at your school I will be right at home. Since I intend on on going down a medical path, I know that Howard University will provide me with best resources to follow my dreams. As a child I was always interested in the worlds around me and how things worked. As a result I participated in a Summer Enrichment Program located at Indiana University in Bloomington.
Epidemiology also interests me since it is truly a combination of many different areas as it draws on statistics, clinical medicine, microbiology and many other fields. The internship with the summer institute with the UT School of Public Health would give me hands on experience in public health practice, specifically with opportunities in infectious diseases and epidemiology. I feel that my experiences and classes I have had throughout my time as a public health major will allow me to put my knowledge to use in the real world. I have listed the “Zika and Neglected Tropical Diseases” as my the preference for my first project, as it aligns exactly with my career goals and interests.
