I would like to join NYC Ladders for Leaders because I believe this program could help me in various ways. First, it would help me gain more work experiences. Even though school is important, I believe work experiences are equally important. There are some skills and knowledge that cannot be learned in a classroom; for instance, in a classroom, we just read about how to respond to different situations. Undergoing the situation in real life can be very different and can teach us something we can’t learn in school. I believe working could help me obtain countless new information that could improve my understandings and the way I am. Second, NYC Ladders for Leaders program could strengthen my communication and leadership skills. I believe there’s
Any good program needs a strong leadership team, and I have always wanted to be a strong leader because I love helping others be their very best. In our marching band program our section leaders are called FOG (For Others Greatness), they are chosen not only for their musicality but also for their ability to work with and guide others. The section leaders during my freshman year were incredible and I longed to be just like them when I was finally able to apply and audition for the position. I am on the color guard and do not play an instrument during the marching season, therefore my color guard skills would need to be at an elevated level in comparison to those of my peers. As the audition portion of the application came about I worked diligently

Leading people is an important skill that I believe is necessary in order to be successful in life. In my opinion there is no better way than NYLT to get this “once in a lifetime” experience.
