I realize this dream continues to come closer to reality. I will be graduating high school next year with my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). This is an advantage as I apply for nursing school. This career best fits me because I will have the necessary qualities and skills needed, I will have the education required, and I am going to significantly impact the lives of others. Human beings have unique characteristics that make them who they are today.
Academy of Our Lady recently welcomed a new athletic director, Scott Walker, to the family. Walker is currently working part time and the transition to full time will occur later this year. He is excited to be a part of the Academy of Our Lady family and plans to grow the athletic department to its full potential. Starting off my list of goals I want to start by finishing my school year out strong and work to my best ability to accomplish them. An example of a goal I have is to make it on the all A honor roll for all four quarters, and to receive the scholarships that I applied for. Other goals that come to mind is getting into the college I applied for, and sustain a high GPA to accomplish other goals at college. With these goals I have set for my life ahead, it will help me work to my highest potential. Another goal I have is to be a great leader/ role model for not only my family, underclassmen, but my community.
When I started high school, the club that excited me the most, was National Honors Society. So, at the first chance I got, in my sophomore year. After being a member for a year, I quickly realized that I wanted to take on a leadership opportunity in the club. So, I took a shot for the stars, and campaigned for being president of Honors Society. Though I had some competition, I put my all into composing a speech, and I won the presidency, and I have been president since.
I decided and committed to Colorado State University. As it stands I will be a first generation student. This accomplishment is meaningful to me because my parents have invested so much in me to get me where I am today. This accomplishment allows me be a positive role model
Then deciding my classes for high school I knew I would be participating in the JROTC program. One of the first things I was drawn to was the uniform, which symbolizes honor, duty, loyalty, responsibility and high expectations. But only when I started to wear that uniform did I begin to understand the ROTC’s rich history, the many ways it builds character and community in the present, and it 's exciting goals for the future. The ROTC mission, established one hundred years ago, is “to motivate young people to become better citizens.” The official beginning was in 1916, when the National Defense Act was signed. The roots of the ROTC program go back to 1819, when Captain Alden Partridge started the American Literary, Scientific and Military Academy
Through high school, I competed with some of the smartest kids in the district, being that we were a new school and one of the richest, pulling from certain areas and sections of neighborhoods. I also tried to diversify myself by joining and playing in the varsity band playing on my school’s football team and joining several clubs and association along the way. One that has affected me the most would be the engineering club at my High school. The Technical Student Association is at its core and joining of the vex robot team and this year the BEST or UIL robotic team it’s where I’ve had most of my growing as a person. With having, to compete mentally, but also interact personally with my teammates and other teams everyday helped mold me into who I am today.
I mean everyone always was telling me that as soon as I hit high school to join the FFA program simply because I boosted the best ag teacher in the state, and I wasn’t just hearing this from my friends. No, I was hearing from my older sibling who both had gone through his program. Little did I know that my friends and family would be so right.
I feel as if I could do great things in the sports media world some day, all the while loving my job. My most positive high school experience would have to be either getting accepted into my school 's prestigious National Honors Society program or achieving a 4.2 G.P.A the first semester of Junior year. The NHS program was hard to get into, but I was
This scholarship can help me along the way to financially develop me into a potential future leader. I want to further discover myself and what I’m more than capable of becoming, with this scholarship I can leave Hawaii, the place I’ve resided since the day I was born, and take that step to opening more academic opportunities I wouldn 't have if I stayed here on the Island. The global economy is becoming more competitive, and in order for me to have a
I would be Freshman Student Council Vice-President! My high school career finally began and in the first week the announcements were made discussing the process for anyone interested in running for office. The necessary preparations were made and I was placed on the ballot, along with a number of other prospective students. My opponents and I campaigned for a whole
During my high school career I was blessed to find the Future Farmers of America, also known as the FFA,. The FFA is an organization that stands over half a million members strong. The FFA has prepared me for my future significantly more than any other group or organization I have been involved in. The mission of this program is, “FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.” I believe it has done just that for me; this organization has made a profound impact on my life. The two events that have impacted my life are Creed Speaking and Job Interview.
This very concept applies to my life. I have over 18 aunts and uncles who provide constant encouragement every time we converse. Their motivation constantly changes as I progress to a more mature adult. Today, I am receiving constant encouragement and motivation because I will be graduating college soon. As a first generation college student, this motivates to become look beyond the horizon to seek new opportunities to make them proud.
After a pause of almost 25 years, I am returning to the college classroom and to say that there are mixed emotions would be an understatement. Sure, I’m excited to start but also a bit fearful if I’m being honest. I’ve worked for large and international companies during this time but getting back to college has always been a goal of mine. No time like the present I guess! I am married with a one daughter who will be heading to college next fall and she is definitely a large and important part of my life.
