The leader of the workers, Curley, wanted to make Lennie pay for killing his wife. Curley decreed that if Lennie was found to shoot him in the stomach and let his guts spill out. This would make his death long and painful. George couldn’t bear to watch Lennie being tortured by the workers like this so he pulled out Carlson’s Luger and placed a bullet into his head, ending his life in the quickest way possible. All in all, George’s decision to kill Lennie was justified by the fact that George was Lennie’s keeper, there was no possible way to save Lennie, and he didn’t want Lennie’s death to be slow and
The crack of the gun shook many souls who had read the book Of Mice And Men. In the book Of Mice And Men by John Steinbeck, George kills Lennie towards the end of the book and there are questions on whether it was wright or not for George to kill Lennie. George was right to kill Lennie because George would end it for him quickly, George would do it compassionately instead of Curley doing it in a bad way, and it would relieve Lennie of the pain and agony he has been through due to his illness. In almost every corner in the world, murder is illegal. However, in this particular situation, I believe that George 's decision to kill Lennie was acceptable due to the fact that it would have been easier for Lennie to die from George then having Curley
Now that there had been a serious casualty, Lennie's problems couldn't be ignored. Curly took the rest of the farm hands with him on the quest to kill Lennie. "'I'm gonna shoot the guts outta that big bastard myself, even if I only got one hand" (98). There was no way to escape from those men. With Curly's wife's blood on his hands, Lennie would die at the hands of Curly, but George killed him quickly and painlessly.
I do agree that George did the right thing shooting Linnie instead of Curley and the others shooting him for the pain instead of caring about Curley 's wife that just died. George did do the right thing because Curley wanted to kill Lennie and by kill he wanted Lennie to suffer by shooting him in the stomach and letting him bleed to death with that Culey wanted Lennie to have a painful death unlike his wife 's death quick and fast. Although George had no Choice but to kill Lennie, he got to hear about the rabbits one more time so it was better to have your best friend kill you the some womans husband that just wants you to suffer. Some people say George could 've saved Lennie .George could not save Lennie because Lennie would just make
They share a good dream. They love one another” (Scarseth 3). George killed Lennie out of love because he knew Lennie would suffer if he lived longer. Even though the action was bad, George decided it was best to kill Lennie to protect him. He knew that if Lennie was still alive, he would suffer greatly for two reasons: Curley wanted to avenge his wife and eventually Lennie would be sent to jail.
The best example of Richards’s compulsive characteristics is the way he killed Frank. The Author writes very bluntly, “Richard shot Frank in front of the boys” (570). We can infer that the author writes this way, because he wants the reader to wonder why Richard is obsessed with his wife, and he loves her more than anything. She is his pride, and he will do anything to keep her, even if it means killing her lover in front of his children. This is why he is so compulsive when he kills frank.
They put you in an electric chair for killing people! !” In that sentence Johnny had just killed Bob and and he hadn 't thought about going into that electric chair he just saw that Bob and the Socs were drowning ponyboy and did what his heart told him to do. Ponyboy was also very startled that Johnny would do such a thing. And was even more scared that they would kill Johnny for killing Bob. “I said we’re going back to turn ourselves in.” (Hinton, 87) Johnny was very brave in
Of Mice and Men Persuasive Essay “ Even the best laid plans of mice and men often go astray.“. In the book of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, George, one of the main characters, has to kill his best friend- Lennie Small. He does this for a few different reasons. Killing his best friend was justified though, for one George and Lennie were always on the move because Lennie always messed up, two, in the end when Lennie messed up again, Curly was going to make him suffer for killing his wife and breaking his hand. Third, George had to kill Lennie because lennie would have done it again.
He reported to a friend, who testified at his trial, about his ‘thrill kill’ that he just wanted to ‘see what it would feel like to shoot someone’”(Jenkins). This shows that the murderer will shoot someone for the sake of having fun. I believes that he should deserves the JLWOP because from how he killed a pregnant mother without giving a bit of hesistant. He also known that what would happen if he killed someone since there are social medias and other news that are posted daily. There was more to his crime as Jenkins reports, “[the killer]
George kills Lennie so he does not have to suffer, fitting the definition of mercy killing. If George would not have killed Lennie, Lennie would have been suffering from all the things Curley would have
