When we talk about notable players in the NBA, what comes into mind? The answers vary, starting from Michael Jordan all the way to LeBron James. However, one player that should be recognized is Stephen Curry, one of the best point-guards and three-pointer in the league right now. But the real question is what steps did he take to take this title in the nation. Where did he start from, what is his influence, or what challenges did he overcome? These are questions that should pop up in your head.
Remember the last time LeBron James matched up against a player that was supposed to be in his stratosphere in the NBA Finals? By the time the Oklahoma City Thunder matched up against the Miami Heat in 2012, Kevin Durant was universally considered the second best player in the world. Durant was great in that series, but LeBron showed us just how big the gap between the best and the second best really was. He 's doing it again.
He went to AAU basketball for a while then went on to the NBA. The games were about the same everywhere. He didn’t get passed the ball much but when he did he made something special happen. He made history everywhere during this Civil Rights Movement. Stepping on the court in college and in the pros’ made history.
Russell Westbrook is a famous professional basketball player who plays for the Oklahoma city thunders. He was forth in the NBA draft. Russell Westbrook was his team top scoring option when Kevin Durant was on sideline for a foot injury. After his third season he became fifth in the league history. He led his team to the 2012 NBA finals after being drafted to the Oklahoma city thunders. He didn’t pass the ball doing his point guard year.
Derrick Rose plays for the Chicago Bulls in the NBA. Derrick Rose had a bunch of injuries almost 3 to 4 they were really serious too. Derrick Rose was really poor when he was young, homeless too when he was older. When Adidas signed with him and he got his first shoe released during the show of his new shoe he broke down crying. This really showed a lot of people how much he worked and how much he struggled in the past. Derrick Rose is extremely fast as a point guard. One of the fastest.
The Jordan Influence When most people think about Michael Jordan, they think about him as the greatest basketball player who ever played. However, Jordan was not only a basketball player, but someone who influenced the American culture and society. Jordan’s influence was one that had never been seen before. Whether it was through basketball or his own brand, Jordan was making everyone want “to be like Mike”.
Today, teams like the Warriors are revolutionizing the way the game is played, as they have popularized the "small ball" play we see a lot today. The Warriors allow Draymond Green to play center standing at 6 '7", which causes them to lose size, but gives an advantage in speed and
Kobe Bryant was once quoted saying, “You always have to be on edge. You always have to take every practice, every game, like it is your last”. He has proven this by winning five championships, two scoring titles, one season MVP, and has been elected to fifteen all-NBA teams. Kobe Bryant was born in 1978 in Philadelphia. His father, Joe “jelly” Bryant was also a basketball player. In 1984 Joe left the NBA and took his family to Italy for him to play in international basketball. Kobe took after his dad’s love of basketball. Since NBA games weren’t televised in Italy he would wait for tapes to be shipped from the United States to watch. In 1991, Kobe’s family moved back to Philadelphia. Kobe attended Lower Merion High School where he played on his first basketball team. Kobe’s hard work earned him a starting role for all four years. His senior year Kobe was nominated for Nation High School Player of the Year. He averaged thirty points, twelve rebounds, six assists, four steals, and three blocked shots. He also led the school to their first championship in fifty-three years.
Every since I seen Melo play basketball for Syracuse he have been my favorite basketball player. Melo is my favorite basketball player basketball player because his style and the way he play the game of basketball it is unrealistic to me the way he can score over two defender and can score with will through a double team and take on their best defender and score on them like it was no problem. The other reason I’m real big fan of Carmelo Anthony because he can play any position on the floor as a small forward he could run all the position on the court and be successful at doing it and wouldn’t have a big problem with playing the position. When used to play basketball I used to try and copy Carmelo Anthony play and turn it into my on moves.
That is: These new Steph Curry 2 Lows are not a garish hammer dunk. We have Jordans for that. They are a practical, all around executed 38-foot pull-up three-pointer, right when the group needs it. Nothing says, "Give me that wrench, child," superior to a couple of Steph Curry 2 Lows.
LeBron James is the Best Basketball Player in the NBA There should not be any discussion on LeBron not being the best player in the NBA. Lebron James is the face of the NBA for the past decade. There are some good players in the league, but nobody has done what LeBron has. People always have their opinions on LeBron and how he is not as good as people make it seem.
Chris, Great post and great example! First Timothy 3:2 states, “Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,” Each of the three championship teams you mentioned were successful in their own ways and each team had a leader on their team that reflected who the team was. LeBron James is the face of the Cleveland Cavaliers franchise and without him the Cavaliers more than likely would not have won their championship.
Who is the mamba? What is mamba mentality? Why is he called the black mamba? For just a normal people or those people who does not know a lot about basketball, when they heard this word mamba or black mamba these questions are the first thing they came out of their mind. But for basketball junkie mamba is more than just a moniker or a nickname. For them mamba is a living legend or a monster on court or just simply GREAT. “Black Mamba” is the nickname of Kobe Bryant. For him black mamba is more than just a moniker, it is his alter-ego. Kobe created an alter-ego as a way to separate his professional and personal lives. (GAINES, 2015)
Tim Duncan “Good, better, best. Never let it rest. Until your good is better and your better is best.” Who ever knew that Tim Duncan would be so inspirational? Tim Duncan was unconventional in his youth bur later made a great contribution to society.
