The Green Mile review Stephen King was born 21 September 1947 in his hometown Portland in USA. Stephen full name is Stephen Edwin king. He goes by the nicknames: King Of Horror or The Master Of Mystery. He is an American author and he has written 64 books until now. “The Stand” is one of his highest ranked books and he has won many prizes for his work. Today he has a wife and three children. Stephen was not happy with the beginning of his first book and decided to thrash it. If his wife Tabitha King had not supported him to finish the book “Carrie”, he would never live the life he is living now. She was the main reason he continued writing his first bestselling book. The book is mainly about Paul Edgecomb the death row guard at E-block. With lots of crazy people coming in and weird situations already happening, he never thought of something like this happening. One-day John Coffey came. John is a mysterious person and not like anyone else who have been accused of murder. Paul gets a feeling that John is a harmless guy and they are establishing a strong bond. Later in the story Paul finds out that Coffey is accused wrongly. At the same time a mouse named Mr. Jingles interfere with the prison guards and two of the prisoners, Coffey and Delacroix. He’s not like any other animals at all. Paul finds out that Coffey have supernatural powers that can heal illnesses and injuries. Coffey wanted to help Paul, Mr. Jingles and Warden Hal’s wife Melinda Moores and uses his powers to heal them. Later in the story all the prisoners have to face old sparkly, including Coffey. Paul determined that he have had enough of killing people and then decides to quit his job at E-block. The book ends with Paul, in the future, explaining how his wife dies. He sees John Coffey as a shadow and praise Coffey to use his powers to save her, but only to see he fades …show more content…

The differences between the book and the movie is that the book is shifting through time. However, in the movie Paul is telling the story to his girlfriend at the right time sequence. Usually the book has more detail in the story. For instance, the story how Delacroix and Bitter Buck got the death sentence, is not told. Also the minor hint when they find John at the crime scene, with a swarm of mosquitos around his head. The last thing they didn’t film in the movie was at the end when his wife dies and Paul caught a glint of Coffey before he fades away. I think it is a very impotent part of the book and it tells us that there is life after
