The NFL has always consisted of male players, but that needs to change. I strongly believe that girls should be able to play football because we love football too, it’s unfair and sexist, and we deserve an opportunity to participate in sports. Being a girl myself, I can say that it’s pretty tough being a girl that loves football. Most of the time, I don’t get to play something that gives me confidence simply because of my gender.
Not only do boys love football, but we do too. Football isn’t something that is just for males, but something that is for both genders. Surveys show that almost 40% of girls across America are into football, but almost half of the 40% loses hope. Although it may be tough, but no one can tell us to stop loving
“Football is like life it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority.” - Vince Lombardi. With Football there are many positions offensively and defensively which are best to be known for playing or watching and especially coaching. Football started out as the AFL and then merged with the NFL which formed the Super Bowl. But let 's not forget the small amount of women in powder puff football. With football being so famous more and more rules are developed.
“TOUCHDOWN” is the only word a quarterback wants to hear and the only thing he wants to see during a game of football. Being a quarterback is probably one of the most difficult positions in the game of football. It requires strength, accuracy, speed, and good football intelligence. Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota were the top two overall picks in the 2015 NFL draft. They both had a great college run as the best college quarterbacks in the country.
he past 40 years have witnessed an increase of Asian athletes in American sports. In addition to their low population, earlier Asians lived in an era when racial discrimination and oppression impeded their access into sports (Zhao & Park, 2013). Asians had been discriminated against since the arrival of Chinese immigrants as cheap labor for the railroad and mining industries during the mid-1800s. This discrimination became more obvious during World War II when thousands of mostly Japanese Americans were forced out of their properties, separated from family and friends, and placed in internment camps. There they were subject to horrific living conditions, extreme deprivation and brutality.
Are team mascots using stereotypes? What about the team names? And their logos? Mascots and team names are stereotypical or offensive.
Those who don 't want football counted in participation opportunities say football should stand on its own because there is no equivalent women
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.--Syracuse and UConn are no strangers to playing each other. The former Big East foes have met 49 times over the years and the two teams will square off for the National Championship on Tuesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. For Breanna Stewart and the Huskies, they are searching for their fourth straight title. If UConn (37-0) can pull off the victory, it would be the first time in Division I women 's basketball that such a feat has been accomplished.
We have seen it on the news about two years ago when it was first reported, somebody was offended by the Washington Redskins NFL logo. Which cause an uproar with people finding every Indian logo offensive, from youth teams to high school, college, and then professional teams. Then the lawsuits began with the Washington Redskins, according to Dan Snyder, owner of the Redskins, told ESPN writer Steve Wulf, “The name of our football team is the name of our team. And I would like to encourage you to do and everyone else to do is just look at history, and understand where the name came from, understand that it means … honor, it means respect, it means pride. And it’s that simple” (Wulf).
Isaac and Joseph Football is Dangerous for Younger Kids Do you want your kids to get injured when playing football? Schools should remove football off their extra curricular activities because of many various reasons. Football has hurt kids around the world ever since. These reasons include ankle injuries, concussions, helmets aren’t 100% safe, and rough play could lead to alzheimer’s disease.
Although both boys and girls play similar sports, the boys sports are given more attention. People have been entertained with football for a long time. Plenty of the football athletes have recently complained about the new rules regarding safety in the field. At times, instead of the game entertainment, people are being lured into the drama a lot of sports have such as fights within the field, objects being thrown at each other, and corruption in the major leagues, that takes a greater approach into violence. Violence within the game only makes things worse because people play more rough in the field.
When was the last time you saw a female American football player in the media? In most cases, the response would be never, due to the lack of women who play American football. American football is associated with masculinity and patriotism. Although Title IX prevents discrimination on the basis of sex, it seems as if American football is an unwritten exception to that law. The media is one of the main reasons to the lack of female football players.
Would I let my Son Play Football? In class we’ve been studying about concussions. I have learned that, having concussions can lead to many medical problems in the present as well as in the future. This leads me to thinking if I would actually allow my child play football?
I strongly believe that children should play American football for the following reasons: football builds character, requires comradery, and involves commitment. There are those who would warn against kids playing the sport because of its barbaric style and safety concerns, but the sport’s positives outweigh the negatives. Football teaches many life lessons that should be installed at an early age. The sport is used to teach boys how to become men. Kids should play football because it builds character.
For the past few decades there has been a debate raging in American sports culture about the use of Native American names in sports. Teams like the Washington Redskins and several other professional and college teams have been criticized for using Native American names as mascots and team names. Some people criticize the names and say that it’s offensive and demeaning and should be changed. Others say that the names honor Native American heritage have been a team tradition for many years and should not be changed. Sports teams should not use Native American names as trademarks or mascots because they promote negative stereotypes of Native Americans in society.
There could also be like girls getting hurt playing football. Also girls would not want to play baseball because the
I support this proposal. Girls should be allowed to play on boys’ sport teams when there isn’t a girls’ team for that sport to play on. As more girls look for athletic opportunities where they are able to play both fairly and successfully, they are subjected to sports teams composed of only boys. While some parents or coaches are against girls on boys’ sports teams, many others support these actions. However so, girls should be allowed to play on boys’ sports teams.
