Superficially, American society continuously covers up issues for years. Society is shaming women for speaking out on the issue; they call women “sluts” for someone else raping them and say they “were asking for it.” This influences women to cover up their wounds with a bandage and just further infects the
In prison, women face two major problems: drug abuse and mental health issues. Drug abuse issues exist in prison; since most of the sentencing that goes on in America is drug user-related, it is only logical that the problem of drug abuse and drug users would be concentrated in prison. A statistic from the American Psychology Association claims that, “75 percent of women met the criteria for substance abuse problems,” (Clark). This is a problem in prison hospitals and trained staff are lacking in order to help women with their drug addictions,
Besides detainees being directly affected by overcrowded prison, it has an adverse effect on society, due to detainees being victim of recidivism. As agreed by United States Sentencing Commission (2016), “nearly half (49.3%) of such offenders were rearrested within eight years for either a new crime or for some other violation of the condition of their probation or release conditions”. The study additionally states that “almost one-third (31.7%) of the offenders were also reconvicted, and one-quarter (24.6%) of the offenders were reincarcerated over the same study period”. This to imply that society is surrounded by former law-breaker who never got a chance to change their sinful habits. Some of the victim of recidivism, according to United States Sentencing Commission

Bioethics essay- Why prenatal testing for severe birth defects shouldn’t be denied to parents There is a belief that physicians should not recommend pre-natal testing for severe birth defects, as this might encourage parents to consider abortion. There are two potential approaches to morally argue whether I believe this belief is justified, these approaches are Deontology and Utilitarianism. In this essay I will give an account of both the deontological and utilitarian approaches. However, I shall argue against this belief on the basis that : 1 ) Deontology ignores the effects not having an abortion has on the child and the parents 2 )
But, if no spare embryo is created and the original embryo is tested and not implanted because it is damaged by the procedure, it is also a waste of human potential. Even more people don’t support cloning because of the rights that all humans, both born and yet to be born, have. One of these is a right to have parents, or to have genes from two individuals. However, this argument is based off of the misconception that many people have, which is that a clone is the child of a nucleus donor. In fact, they are the donor’s twin sibling and have the same genetic parents as the donor.
For example, rapists, murderers, and child sex offenders. There’s a lot of other crimes that are debatable too. Of course, you shouldn’t be deemed unworthy to have a kid if you shoplift a pencil, but why would we allow kids under the care of adults who have molested children? Agencies go through extremely lengthy background checks and procedures to make sure families are prepared and healthy enough to take on a child, yet nobody bats an eyelash when it comes to people having children on their own. In the New York Daily News article titled,“Ohio police share photos of
Say for instance they chose to keep the child and did not consider the amount of money necessary for properly raising a child. This is especially bad if the family has two hard working parents on either side. Then one of the two would go into a job of some sort while the other is left at home taking care of the child. But it can also be taken from the other side if they had chosen for the abortion and did not wish to involve their parents with the decision. They would then be stuck looking up online which states do allow abortions to children under the age of eighteen without parental consent if not already in one at which point they would then also need to figure out how to get enough money (price can range anywhere between zero to three-thousand dollars).
The pains of imprisonment, including the separation from family and adapting to the prison environment, can make these conditions worse. Women also face a variety of physical health needs. Women in prison are more likely to be HIV positive, presenting a unique challenge for the prison health care system. While women in the general United States population have an HIV infection rate of 0.3%, the rate of infection for women in state and federal facilities is 3.6%
Some should consider though that banning abortions won 't stop women from having them, they 'll then resort to going to an uneducated individual to have the procedure done. Also their should not be a law telling women what they can and can 't do with their bodies. Abortion should remain legal because fetuses are incapable of feeling pain during the process, banning abortions would increase the amount of illegal abortions, and banning them would limit women 's rights During abortions, most people think that fetuses feel the pain during the process. Studies show that most fetuses don 't feel pain. Sometimes, every now and then one might feel pain, but it is not likely.
Bell. Carrie Buck, who was eight-teen, was institutionalized at the Virginia State Colony for Epileptics and Feeble minded. When she tried to challenge the law, an eight justice majority upheld the Virginia laws. Speaking for the majority decision, Justice Holmes suggested it would be better for the world to sacrifice the reproductive ability of people labeled “unfit from continuing their kind” than to waste time and resources later “dealing with” the offspring. Once the decision was made, a majority of the states that passed the sterilization laws were reflected those of Virginia.
Eugenics was a racist pseudoscience the aimed at clearing out all human beings that we regarded as unfit leaving behind only a selected that were conformed to a Nordic stereotype. Sterilization and segregation policies and marriage restrictions were enacted enshrining elements of philosophy. California was among the top five states to adopt such laws by early 1910. This attributed to a substantial number of marriages being barred and thousands of Americans being sterilized. On average about half of coercive sterilizations were done in California before the eruption of World War II in the 1940s.

Parents and guardians believe myths and Facebook posts instead of well educated doctors to determine if their child should be vaccinated. This is a huge mistake! By not vaccinating your children properly you are not only putting them at risk, but the people around them that they encounter daily (CDC). Parents should not be able to make up an uneducated excuse to keep their children from being properly vaccinated. Immunizations need to be completely required for students to attend a public school in order to keep their local community disease
