Programs he 's most proud of include, instituting all school districts in the county have a school resource officer, the pistol safety course now offered to residents and the creation of the drug task force including the drug tip line. "A lot of our successes were done with all of us and I think Sheriff-elect Allard will follow through on all of the stuff, he has a lot of great ideas himself, he 's a real smart guy," says Sheriff Cole.
Sheriff Cole says he 'll miss the friendship and community between fellow law enforcement agencies the most." One of the things I tried to promote is the comrodary between departments with having the State Police and the Sheriff 's Office and the police departments all work toegther in various cases. My bottom line has always been who cares who does it as long as it gets done," says Sheriff Cole.
As far as plans for the future he says he 's not ready to fully leave law enforcment. "Well my wife said to me last week, 'you 've only done 41 years, what 's going on here? I hate to see a great man like him leave my high school alma mater, but I know that he will make a tremendous impact on the county as the new
“Cole’s father sat up taller in his chair. ‘I’m William Matthews,’ he announced importantly. ‘ I'm here to make sure that my son never causes problems again.’ He turned and glared at Cole” (40). Mr. Matthews doesn’t even care about Cole; all he wants is to get out of this mess.
What did you like about the interview? - Everything, I interviewed one sheriff and when other sheriffs heard about the interview they sat around to hear the questions and gave me their own answers. They all said they love talking to kids about their career. Basically the interview went from one person to about 3 but my main focus was on the sheriff I was first interviewing. I also noticed most of them had similar answers.
He started off as dispatch in 1996 and then in 1998 applied to become a patrol officer. He has since moved further on in his career and a higher rank. Last year he was promoted to detective. Do you plan on retiring as

I look forward to seeing the different ways that officers deal with cases and the same or different outcomes that they lead to. Griffin Police Department has done a very good job of dealing with a lot of hard cases, but not falling into the trap of police corruption or police brutality.
