Steve Harmon: A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing Steve may have been seen as not guilty, but does that mean Steve is truly innocent? After all, the Justice System can falsely accuse somebody or see a guilty person not guilty. I believe Steve to be one of those times, being a guilty person seen as innocent. Steve is from a book called Monster, Steve is the protagonist of the story. It takes place in New York in the city Harlem, Steve, a person accused of murder with a phew others. Steve has to go to court to testify that he is innocent with the phew others. The book never really gave a real answer to if Steve is a monster or innocent, but I think Steve is actually a monster in the whole book. In the novel, Monster, by Walter Dean Myers, Steve Harmon was a Monster because he lied and doubted himself. Steve was a Monster because He lied and doubted himself. During the quote, Steve

After all, about 12 people(Jury) said he was not guilty which is pretty impressive. Steve was found not guilty by super good lawyers that are good at doing their job. However, it does not mean Steve was truly innocent. Therefore, Steve should be considered a monster. Steve is a monster because he knew about the robbery. In court, Ms. Petrocelli was talking about Steve being involved with the crime. The author wrote “‘The man who was to enter the store and check it out is sitting at the other table. His name is Steven Harmon.”’ (Myers 24). Steve probably being involved with the crime of helping the criminals with robbing the store shows that he is a bad person. If he was just going to get some mints he wouldn't have been detected to have been involved. The people who were also involved with the crime confirmed that he was involved with the crime by being a lookout. The only reason why he was seen as not guilty is that he didn't give any signal to the
My final reason is he hears some women talk about the crime and runs. Steve has a very Guilty conscious meaning that he is trying to say that he is a good person when really he's
Yesterday, Sloan Jackson, age 18 was put on trial for stealing a shirt from Famous Fashions in Merchandise Mall. He supposedly ran out of the store with a lump (which was the same color as the stolen shirt) in his jacket to go to Record Mart because there was a big sale going on. He then was found sitting next to the yogurt stand and the shirt was found in a trash barrel near the yogurt stand. He then ran away from the security guard but he was in the end caught and brought back to the store to return the shirt. At the trial yesterday the jury came to a verdict of being guilty after talking in the jury room for about 10 minutes.
Five percent of U.S citizens have been wrongfully convicted. The book “Monster” written by Walter Dean Myers is about Steve who is on trail for a murder that he didn’t commit. There is agreeance with the jury that Steve isn’t guilty because there is a lack of evidence of his involvement and it is inferred that Steve doesn’t have a criminal record. To begin with, there was a lack of evidence of Steve’s involvement. The author wrote “one of the men arguing she points to King”(Myers 114).
Steve is a 16 year old boy who lives in New York City. Steve was accused of robbing and killing the owner who owned the drugstore. He tries to take care of his neighborhood. In the novel, Monster, by Walter Dean Myers, Steve Harmon was a good person because he was not guilty and cared for others. Steve was a good person because he was found not guilty.
Monster - Walter Dean Myers How would one feel to be on trail for something they did not do? In monster, by Walter Dean Myers, Steve Harmon is on trial for murder. Steve Harmon is a 16 year old who is wrongly accused of a crime he did not commit. If found guilty he can potentially serve 25 years to life in prison. He faces prejudice during his court case when there should only be hard cold facts.
Due to the fact that Steve is in an area with lots of violence and gang activity people assume he would be involved in this robbery and murder of Mr. Nesbitt.
Steve is on trial for murder and robbery. Steve had also told false information while on his trial and he doubts himself. In the novel, Monster, by Walter Dean Myers, Steve Harmon was a Monster because he lies and he doubts himself. Steve was a Monster because he lied.
This is also good because the jury decided that he was found innocent, there was no evidence to prove he did the crime. He pleaded not guilty so he didn’t commit the crime. However, just because he was found not guilty doesn’t mean Steve was innocent. Therefore, Steve was a monster because he doubts himself. Steve was in his cell doubting himself.
Steve Harmons actions depicted his characteristics and we can, therefore, conclude that Steve Harmon is a liar as he lied under oath. Steve was also a guilt-ridden man ashamed of his actions. People who disagree may claim that Steve was undoubtedly innocent as Lorelle Henry, a witness, declared that there were only 2 people, proven to be James King and Bobo Evans, inside the store who eventually murdered Mr.Nesbitt. This may be a strong argument because it shows that Steve was not in the drugstore and could be really innocent. On the contrary, however, Steve’s job was just supposed to be a lookout and ensure that the drugstore was clear of cops or anyone inside.
His wording shows that he doesn’t know who he is and therefore believes he is a Monster as Ms. Petrocelli calls him. He accepts people’s judgments as his self-truth. Even though, he, himself, accepts the worst he still wants people to perceive him as a good person, especially his mom. Steve’s mom’s words cut deeper in him because his mom believes he didn’t do it while he knows he did. 5 days into the trial, his mother comes by and talks to him hoping to make him feel better, “I could still feel Mama’s pain.
“Don 't be afraid of losing people. Be afraid of losing yourself by trying to please everyone around you. "~ Lewis Howes. In the novel Monster by Walter Dean Myers, we are introduced to Steve Harmon, a sixteen-year-old dark-skinned boy who is the narrator of the book.
Then in the last moments of the trial the whole case is closed with the suspect not being Steve
Although Steve may have known about the robbery he did not go through with it. He felt remorse after he heard of the death of the innocent storeowner. Furthermore, while there is reason to believe Harmon knew ahead of time the plan of the robbery, there is no evidence that he did his job. When Bobo took the stand in the trial he told the jury that he did not see a signal from Steve.
We know this when the author wrote, “I didn’t kill Mr. Nesbitt.” (Myers 140). Steve is a good person because he didn’t kill Mr. Nesbitt and we know this because later in
