Steve Jobs, the man who created the Apple Company, the man who started a new era of computer design, found the American Dream. He may have had trouble in his life, but in the end he overcame his obstacles. He had ideas that no one had before and always wanted the impossible to become possible. He would look at an idea that people could only imagine in their head. Steve would find the hardest of problems and find a way to solve them. It shows how life can sometimes be hard, but life can also be very rewarding.
Steve was born in San Francisco California on February 24,1955. His parents could not care for a baby at the time. They thought that they were not responsible enough to raise a baby. The only reasonable solution for them was to put Steve

Once Steve was old enough he started school. Immediately school was bad for Steve. He had no friends and hated everything about school. One kid even called Steve a cry baby and a loner. Steve decided to not do his homework, and he even said, "It is a waste of time!" Steve also started to pull pranks on the school teachers. His parents did not like this at all, and thought that Steve was turning into a juvenile delinquent. As a result Steve and his family left that school district and moved to Los Altos, Ca. In his new school Steve started to make friends who also enjoyed learning about electronics. One of Steve's friends was Bill Fernandez. Bill lived right next to the Wozniak's house and was friends with Steve Wozniak. Bill and Steve Wozniak liked to build small machines together. One day the two decided to build something almost impossible, a computer. At the time computers were very expensive, and almost no one had them this did not stop Bill’s and Wozniak’s determination. Unfortunately Steve Wozniak who was older had to leave for college making him withdraw from the construction of the computer. He encouraged Bill to keep working on the computer, and to get someone to help him. Bill already knew who was up for the task, Steve Jobs. Bill and Steve worked very hard on the the computer. Sometimes Wozniak would have time off and could help Steve and Bill. Wozniak had more knowledge about computers than Steve …show more content…
Hill’s class. Things were about to change. This teacher had a very big impact on Steve. Mrs. Hill knew that Steve was a troublemaker, so she would challenge him by bribing him with five dollars and a lollipop if he did his math homework. Steve would accept the money and candy because when you are a kid you will always accept that. Steve Jobs said during a Smithsonian interview, "I probably learned more in that one school year than any other year in school." After that school year he skipped fifth grade and went right into sixth grade. He could have even gone into high school, but his parents said that he needed to learn more so he stayed in sixth grade. Once Steve could go into college he did. He got into Reed college in Portland Oregon. Steve's first semester in college was a failure because he had horrible grades and did not like the classes that he took. He eventually dropped out of college but was able to get back his entire tuition. Steve did not know what to do. Fortunately Reed college allowed him to stay on campus and attend classes as a listener. He was also allowed to sleep in the dorm rooms that no one used. Steve's favorite class that he listened to was about calligraphy. This class was great because it taught Steve about different font styles. Steve never thought that this class would actually help, but it did. This later gave him the idea of making a computer that could have different
Steve and his family were so happy. The book said, “The guards who were standing behind Steve moved away from him. He has been found not guilty.” (Myers 276). This shows Steve is a good person.
200 years into this magnificent nation, America found itself dealing with many political and social controversies, but in the midst of all the madness, one of the most successful companies in the history of the world was founded. 1976 was a defining year for America as the country looked onward to its next century. Apple began to define what it meant to be a computer, the Supreme Court defined the legality of the death penalty, and Escambia High School defined their stance on racial tensions plaguing the town. 1976 was an unforgettable year in America and its significance to the history of our nation is undeniable. From a garage, a technological empire was created by the ingenuity of two visionaries, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.
Bill Gates had access to so many different computers in a time when having access to just one was an anomaly, the opportunities he had were extremely rare but occurred because of when and where he was
One of the hardships was that he didn’t have the grades that someone would expect from the genius he turned out to be. In fact “He got bad grades and frustrated his teachers” (Jacobson 1). His bad grades continued for the entirety of his childhood. He was even almost stopped from taking the School Certificate Exam because of his bad grades. But, he didn’t let that define his life.
Joe’s senior summer he worked cutting down cotton trees and digging trenches, he was working all he could so he can pay his first year at Washington University. When Joe worked at Grand Coulee he knew that the work was going to be tough and he had to work long hours, yet Joe accepted the facts and thrived at his Job. A big factor of Joe’s success was the fact that Joe had a work ethic. Without his work ethic Joe would not have been able to get to where he was, he was lucky that: Joyce, Pocock, Charlie McDonald, and his brother Fred contributed at Joe’s worst times and at the most perfect moment and this allowed Joe to become a successful as he dreamed
The Steve Jobs commencement speech was a speech that was given by the former Apple Inc. CEO to Stanford University during the 114th commencement on 12th June 2005. While writing about the computer revolution, he briefly discussed Steve Jobs, the cofounder of Apple Computers. He mentions how extraordinary Jobs’ childhood experiences were, like calling Bill Hewlett and getting spare parts and a summer job. It is then said by Gladwell “Bill Hewlett gave him spare parts? That’s on a par will Bill Gates getting unlimited access to a time-share terminal at age 13. Its as if you were interested in fashion and your neighbor when you were growing up happened to be Giorgio Armani”(Gladwell 66).
Throughout his speech, Jobs’ main goal was to connect with the audience on different levels and build trust so they believe him when he says if a person works hard and always follow their dreams, they will be successful. He establishes the connection through his style of writing by using ethos, pathos, diction, and repetition. Co-founder and CEO of Apple Inc, Steve Jobs, in his commencement speech at stanford university, illustrates three distinguishable points of his life. Jobs’ is very successful in his approach to inspire the graduates by speaking on the experience and insight he has gained. Jobs has a simplistic yet elegant tone and diction to convey his hardships to communicate how much life has to give and teach us in an inspirational way. Jobs begins his speech by dethroning himself as the well-known self made billionaire to create a connection to the graduates. He starts by putting the audience on a higher plateau with “I am honored to be with you”(1) and “ this is the closest I have been to a college graduation”(2) and when speaking of himself and his speech, he states it is “No big deal”.

In life, there is always going to be something that one needs to learn; things such as yourself, other people, or the environment around you, pretty much the of do’s and don’t of life. During your journey, you are the ultimate ruler of what happens and what does not happen, but along the way, people will try to guide you and give you the best advice that they can. In the speech “Steve Jobs Commencement Address to Stanford University, Class of 2005” , Apple CEO Steve Jobs provides his audience with personal experiences and the rough periods he went through in his early years before founding apple that helped him succeed.
