Because there has been a lot of violence lately, the world needs more peace. Many of people’s lives should not have been taken. The police are taking people’s lives, and the families are very hurt by it. Although there is many lighter-skinned people that have been shot by police, there have lately been more darker-skinned people shot by police. I think the world needs to get rid of gun violence. Even though there is a lot of gun violence, there has been many bombs and terrorist attacks, and many people and very young children have died or are seriously injured. We need to stop all of this violence before it gets
The subject of gun control is hotly debated not only by the media and special interest groups but also by law enforcement agencies, and ordinary citizens alike. Some feel that since the Second Amendment was written before the advent of modern firearms that it is outdated. Others believe that it is an inalienable right that must be preserved in order for Americans to remain a free people. The Second Amendment states: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. ”(archives.gov)
Nicholas Willoughby English Comp I Prof. Cook December 17, 2015 We Cant Eliminate It, But It Can Eliminate Us Gun control has been a hot topic in the past few years. Making guns unavailable is only going to cause more crime. Criminals will not stop trying to get their hands on them, illegal or not. The government should not be able to take away our “freedoms”; gun control is one of them. Choosing to remove our weapons will only make our America a more hostile environment to live.
A simple way to stop school shootings in our district would be by eliminating all the factors that form a school shooter. Most school shooter suffered from bullying or had some sort of mental illness. In order to minimize the chance of a kid becoming a school shooter, we need to increase awareness.
We the people should stand up against gun violence. Life is a natural right. Killing is against the law, so why is it we give the "proper authorities" the right to kill those they feel threatened by? Why is it that it 's ok to kill someone if they did something against the rules? Killing them won 't change anything!
Mass shootings like the one that happened not too long ago in Vegas are not common to very many countries outside of the U.S. In fact japan has has zero mass shootings since the year 2000. Most of the threats to the United States are a lot different from the threats they faced in 1789 when the second amendment was written, and Americans were given the right to bear arms. The right itself has become the actual threat. No longer are guns being used to protect the citizens of this nation from the british, and any other country or place for that matter, but the second amendment has become the right to take lives.
Everyone wants to know an answer to how people can stop mass shootings and there are many things that can be changed to help stop these senseless killings from happing in the future. Some ways of stopping these mass shootings would be trained and armed citizens, by keeping ammunition in the hands of citizens for their protection and making stricter background checks. It is a proven fact that a citizen armed and trained can be effective in a hostile situation whether it is robbery, home invasion or in a store during an argument. An armed and trained citizen would stop many of the mass shootings that happen; for instance, the night club shooting in Florida that happened in 2016. This was a targeted place by the shooter that he had scoped out
The government put effort on controlling gun violence but that not enough. Mass shooting has triple since 2011, making drive by shooting more frequent with copycat shooter.
Thesis 1: Charlton Heston is directly responsible for the large amount of gun ownership in America and is thus responsible for the large amount of gun related violence in America. If he stopped his rallying then gun violence would drop. Response: I disagree with this statement because Charlton Heston only promotes legal ownership of guns, and he does not support any form of violence and only encourages guns be used for self defence.
Why is it that America is the world leader in gun violence? Many people will answer this question by saying “it’s always been this way, so there’s nothing we can do”, but they couldn’t be farther from the truth. The fact of the matter is that “since 2011, the frequency of mass attacks has tripled”, yet nothing is being done (TheWeek.com). Unless something can be done to prevent all of these mass killings, it is only going to get worse. With many States having lax gun laws and the “estimated 310 million guns in circulation”, no wonder it’s
School shootings are starting to become a norm in today 's world. This is something we can only take precautions for but, we cannot completely stop school shootings from happening. Banning guns is not the option because the shooters are still going to find a way to get their guns. We should not punish everybody for the stupidity of some people 's actions. "At Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado two teens went on a shooting spree on April 20, 1999, killing 13 people and wounding more than 20 others before turning their guns on themselves and committing suicide" (Columbine Shooting, 2018).
Attention Getter: Between 1993 and 2003 gun ownership increased by 56 percent, and yet gun violence declined by almost 50 percent (Bandler). Criminals know that if people have guns to protect themselves then they might not be successful in a shooting. Gun Regulation is immoral because Guns are not what kill people. It is the people who use the guns to kill people, who kill people. Many of these people who cause these mass shooting and killings have mental health issues.
Today’s world is marked by violence and deaths. One of the major kinds of violence is the gun violence. In fact, the gun violence is literally any gun related violence or death. According to the 2013 report of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of gun related deaths were equal to 33169 or 1.3% of all deaths in the country. This gun violence issue affects the population by the number of deaths but also on many other levels of life.
How to reduce gun violence " In the 1960's, there was one school shooting. In the 1980's, there were 27. In the 1990's, there were 58. In the past decade, there have been over 120" (Hoehn).
Problem Solution Paper 95% of people think that america needs stricter gun control laws, yet the amount of shootings in the past years has risen exponentially. Gun violence is a serious problem and the people of the United States have wanted to solve this problem this for a long time. If people feel scared to go to school (which should be a safe learning environment for all children and all ages) that is a problem, and it needs to be solved, or at the very least put in barriers to deal with the mental disabilities and amount of guns associated with this problem. There has been an exponential rise in shootings in America since the 20th century. In the 20th century there were 226 shootings, in the first 18 years of the 21st century there have been 211 shootings.
Title: Gun Violence As I write this introduction, I am like millions of others watching the tragedy in Louisiana and Alabama caused by hurricane Katrina. A small but important part of the devastation and the challenge is the existence of individuals and groups of citizens from the area mostly impacted by the storm who used guns against their neighbours and those attempting to assist them. In any other industrialised nation, this will never happen because it will eventually cause the level of socialisation to decline due to the issue pertaining citizens getting the ready access towards guns. Most likely, gun violence is categorised as the most highly anticipated violence around the world because it is growing rapidly and causes
