I think “The United States annexes Hawaii in 1900” should be paired with imperialism. The meaning of imperialism is the policy that creates colonies in the weaker nations in order to make raw materials and have access to the new markets. The reason why I think The United States annexing Hawaii in 1900 is a part of imperialism is because once Americans was done settling in Hawaii they started to grow sugar and sold it to the Americans in the US; both the US and Hawaii in 1875 and Hawaii agreed to trading sugar and this allowed Hawaiian sugar to be shipped to the US without tariffs. The agreement between the US and Hawaii ended when Congress passed the “McKinley Tariff of 1890”.

“You don’t raise heroes, you raise sons. And if you treat them like sons, they’ll turn out to be heroes, even if it’s just in your own eyes. ”-Walter M. Schirra, Sr. The narrative story “The Tale of Genji” that was written by an aristocratic lady named Murusaki Shikibu around 1000 AD was about the bond between father and son (the emperor and his son Genji) , how conflicts and ordeals as they occured were resolved and how the entrance of the new characters turned the whole story upside down. The story though fictitious provides a glimpse of the earliest japanese political system.
In 1819, Kamehameha II took the throne. His first task as ruler of Hawaii was to eliminate the traditional Hawaiian religion. One year after this elimination was made, a group of Protestants came to Hawaii and converted a great deal of them to Christianity. The Popol Vuh is a cultural narrative of the Quiché people that blends folklore, mythology, and historical accounts. The contents of the Popol Vuhhave been relayed through oral tradition for many years, and its written form has suffered many losses following Spanish colonization of Latin America. Spanish colonizers destroyed nearly all Quiché texts and codices, including the Popol Vuh. Thus, the earliest known version of the Popol Vuh that exists is a Spanish translation by Reverend Father Franzisco Ximénez, Parish Priest for the Royal Patronage of the Town of Santo Tomás Chuilá, Mexico. Father Ximénez’s translation is the foundational text for all future translations of the Popol Vuh, including this edition, translated to English by Allen J. Christenson.

The maltreatment continued throughout with evidence of this happening in Mexico with mass enslavement of natives on the Yucatan peninsula perpetrated in 1526 by Royal militants against rebellious natives more than ten years after the laws were decreed (Maxwell, 58). Though there was a development of clergy awareness in the rest of Latin American, notably by Bishop Bartholomé de las Casas in 1547 in which he demands all native slaves owned by Spaniards to be liberated, as he mistakenly believed the sole purpose of Spanish presence was to convert natives (Maxwell, 65). This leads to a sort of liberation to the owned slaves of Spaniards as they transition from perpetual servitude to indentured servitude, which does not change much in treatment of natives but it did change their residences. The liberation was later upheld by the papal bull Sublimus deus, that rejected the immoral decree held by Spaniards in America where “Indians” were subhuman and unworthy of having human rights; once again, the Latin American conquistadors do not follow it as is orders (Maxwell,
