Netflix has been evolving into a trend for many years, and the shows that it produces are outstanding. One particular T.V. show that has captivated audiences is Stranger Things. Set in an Indiana Town in the early 1980's, this science-fiction series truly is monumental. Finn Wolfhard plays the lead role of Mike, along with his friends Will, Dustin, and Lucas. The entire series is based off of these children, and some older influences, under covering the mystery of where Will Byers was taken. Stranger Things emphasizes the time period of historical horror movies, and science-fiction all in one package. Avid watchers of the show can agree that it has a certain feature about it that keeps you intrigued. I have come to understand that Stranger Things does, in fact, offer an escape to its viewers. Feeling a connection to the fictional characters will make the audience long to binge-watch the series until the show is over. The directors are aiming for you to relate to the show in different ways, and they are most definitely achieving this. Asking questions about the different topics in the episode can improve creativity, and get the audience involved in the series deeper. Also, watching this one episode of Stranger Things can enhance a person’s historical knowledge. The ability to notice the different time period of not only episode two, but of the entire show, is detrimental for our understanding of the plot. By learning exactly how the 80’s is different than what the world is like today stimulates the audience’s brain.
