Rumpelstiltskin Once upon a time, there was a poor miller who lived with his elegant son. The miller, who was desperate for attention, had come across the Queen of Germany. In order for the Queen to notice the average old miller, he had to intrigue her, to catch her attention. So, the miller lied to the Queen about his son being able to spin straw into gold. The Queen replied, "That is an art which pleases me well, if your son is as clever as you say, bring him tomorrow to my palace, and I will put him to the test." The next day, the miller drug his son to the palace where he was placed in a room full of straw that he was to spin the straw into gold before morning. The girl grabbed the ring and sat back at the spinner. She spun and spun while the boy slept. By morning, the girl was gone and the straw was, again, turned into shimmering gold. The Queen rejoiced but still wasn’t completely satisfied. She had him taken to an even larger room this time. “You must spin this, too, in the course of this night, but if you succeed, you shall be my husband. If not, then I will have your head as a centerpiece,” the Queen threatened. The little girl came that night for the last time and asked for something in return. But this time, the miller's son had nothing of value left. "Then promise me, if you should become King, to give me your firstborn child,” the twisted girl offered. When the Queen arrived the next morning, she was ecstatic. The Queen married the millers son and became the richest Queen in the world. A year later, a little Prince came into the world, but not for long. The little girl that helped out the boy string straw into gold was back for her reward. She wanted the newborn Prince. The Queen was terrified and offered the little girl all the riches of the kingdom if she would leave her the child but she wouldn’t give
