I. Introduction A. Background of the Study In the present-day, many people are suffering from poverty. According to an article of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, during the second quarter of this year an estimated 10.1 million Filipino families considered themselves poor, a decrease of 1.4 million from the previous quarter. In the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, there were people that were interviewed face-to-face and they considered themselves as poor. The result of the survey found that 32% or approximated 7.3 million families were poor in terms of food. In the study of Bhowmik S. K. (2005), Filipino street vendors confronted the accompanying issues: they do not have specific places to operate, they do not have access to piped water, and they are considered illegal. They are also blamed for the dirt and trashes on the ground and pavement and for causing traffic problems. According to Kumar, R., & Singh, A. (2013), “uncertainty in income is one of the major problems of the street vendors”. Street vendors aren 't guaranteed in the event that they can get a salary in a day particularly in the midst of regular catastrophes. Widiyastuti, D., (2013), said that climate adds to their woes through rain, searing heat and chilly winter’s blustery weather by goods damage and extra peripherals requirement. They also have long working hours without rest and lack of urban amenities. (Charmes J. 2002). Street vendors also face problems in terms of lack of shelter and storage space (Kurniawati, W. 2012). Acquisition and security of storage spaces is one of the predicaments of the street vendors who live far from their business stalls or spaces.
