The majority of the selected respondents has agreed on the facts that windmills can last for several decades or a lifetime. Majority also said that windmills can be used as a tourist attraction, though occupy plenty of space for construction and can increase the number of mortality rates of birds after colliding with the blades. They also considered that windmills are multi-purpose buildings and can generate more electricity than other generating technologies. They also agreed that windmills can still operate continuously given that the wind source is intermittent. They also agreed that windmills are capable of providing enough electricity for an entire community, have less operating expenses than other generating technologies. Most of the …show more content…
One of the examples of the weaknesses of windmills is that it’s not very sustainable throughout all conditions which means that it can have its defects and cannot withstand any powerful and devastating calamities. Windmills also take time to be constructed due to the fact that windmills should be about one hundred (100) feet high. It also needs to be durable enough to sustain any weather conditions. The materials are also expensive and difficult to attach such as the rotors being large and the generators being connected to the power lines. These are one of the reasons why windmills take time to be constructed. The windmills also occupy plenty of space for its construction. Unexpectedly, the windmills can increase the number of mortality rates of birds when it collides with the blades. Other than the weaknesses are the windmills strengths. One of the examples of its strengths is that if windmills are constructed properly, it can last for several decades or a lifetime. It can sustain typhoons if built with the right materials and components that it needs. The windmills can also be used as a tourist attraction due to the fact that windmills are pleasing to the eye and awe striking. The windmills can also measure different wind speeds and wind density because of its rotor blades. Unlike like the solar panels, hydroelectric power plants, and other generating technologies, windmills have fewer construction expenses. The windmills …show more content…
Government – The government will furthermore discover the windmill’s ability to produce sufficient energy whenever needed. They can invest in the construction of windmills as a solution to the power shortages that the country is already experiencing. With the government’s support, they can invest in the construction of Windmills in order to lessen the country’s dependence on oil. 3. Students – The students will be able to know the benefits and the advantages and disadvantages of the windmills as an alternative energy source. They can also learn about how it is constructed and why it is widely used in other countries. They will see its benefits on decreasing the air pollution that the world is facing nowadays due to its ability to produce non-polluting energy. 4. Future Researchers – They can use this research as a reference to expanding their studies on the construction of windmills as an alternative energy source. They can also discover little-known facts about windmills using this research paper which can help them discover different ideas on the construction of

Out of six First Nation groups, we agree Lower Kootenay Band to be the most favorable one to propose our wind energy project to after discussing with my group members. They have a very open territory of 6,000 acres, and a small population. Currently, they are seeking “Clean Energy Opportunities” and our business fits right in the criteria. The reason we did not choose Hesquiaht and Tsawout First Nation is because both are located on Vancouver Island with relatively denser population and many tourists. Ferries and ships occupy the sea nearby, almost impossible to develop offshore wind turbines.
In its funky and eclectic restaurant, filled with rusty décor and a lime green ceiling, Farmerbrown is a soulful eatery with modern flair. Sensational starters, like the sweet potato steak fries with spiced salt and lemon aioli and the fried shrimp and cheesy grits bites, speak to Farmerbrowns southern comfort food aesthetic. Popular entrees include the crispy cornmeal catfish platter with fried shrimp and jalapeno slaw, the classic barbecue baby back ribs plate with pickled veggies and the jumbo blackened prawns and stoneground grits. An amazing brunch is served at Farmerbrowns, with such items as luscious angel biscuits with mushroom gravy and crispy fried chicken and waffles delighting diners every weekend.
While turbines do have storm modes that stop the rotors from spinning during severe weather, sometimes this fails and causes massive damage. Certainly, many more advances must be made before wind can become a viable power source in
Not only are these wind farms beautiful, but they also produce a ton of energy. More than one-third of Iowa’s net electricity came from wind in 2016 (State Profile and Energy Estimates- Iowa). “Iowa's wind resources place it among the nation's leading states in the percentage of in-state electricity generation from renewable resources other than hydroelectric power” (State Profile and Energy Estimates- Iowa). As an Iowan, I am proud that this renewable energy source is helping our state and country become more environmentally
Mountaintop removal mining is a complex issue while being totally destructive in almost every aspect. The coal mined does not justify destroying mountains that formed nearly 480 million years and then completing artificial reclamation that cannot replace or due justice for what was lost during the destruction. The monetary gain from mining does not compensate for the destruction and the health effects of the environment and people. Massey Energy is inadvertently influencing the deterioration of the local lives, and treating them as a lesser people because a greater amount of people are being benefited from the mining (Holcomb).
With green energy supplying electricity to more than 14% of American homes, there is no doubt that it is a worthwhile endeavor.., Though highly contested, the Cape Wind Project, proposes a wind farm to be constructed off the coast of Cape Cod. The Harvard-educated Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an opponent of the project, expresses his doubts and criticisms of the project in his op-ed column printed in the New York Times, “An Ill Wind Off Cape Cod” which he composed when he first heard that the company Energy Management is trying to build a wind farm on Nantucket Sound. He utilizes a genuine tone in order to get his thoughts across. Francis Broadhurst, a proponent of the Cape Wind Project and distinguished writer, writes “Cape Wind Is Sound for
