Streptomyces sp. MAB18 : Streptomyces is the largest genus of Actinobacteria and the type genus of the family Streptomyceae. A marine actinobacterium Streptomyces sp. MAB18 was isolated from the marine sediments of Cuddalore coast (lat 11°42′ N, long 79°52′ E), India. It is an extra cellular protease producing strain. This strain shows an antioxidant activity of protease by using useful substrates. Result of the present study shows that agriculture waste-derived protease produced by Streptomyces sp. MAB18 can be useful as supplementary protein and anti oxidant in the animal feed formulations (15). The extracellular alkaline producer strain Streptomyces sp. Around 23,000 bioactive secondary metabolites have been recorded which are produced by micro-organisms and actinomycetes alone produce 10,000 of these compounds. (24 jasmine). Actinomycetes represent large part of rhizosphere microbial flora, but root – microorganism interactions have been importantly studied for the nitrogen fixing specie streptomyces. Such species are isolated from sample of roots collected from plants that exhibited healthy vegetative growth. Production of relatively large amount of protease by this strain was simple and it will be easy to scale up, as this natural occurring actionbactrium grows on simple media with agro waste as a soule source of carbon, nitrogen and energy. Hence by such advantage and facilty of sources from an in expensive substrate and a commercial potential with low cost the production of large scale of protease enzyme and extraction of antioxidants has been conducted. Streptomyces sp MAB18 produce protease which was tested under optimum conditions for the antioxidant activity of enzyme. By using DPPH radical scavenging activity, O2 scavenging activity, NO scavenging activity, Fe2+ chelating activity, and reducing power the enyme was found to possess good antioxidant potential. (31) This study evaluate the production of protease by using agricultural waste, with the subsequent usage of same agro waste for the conservation of antioxidants. This Enzyme is broadly utilized in food-manufacturing and analysis of chemicals, thus resulting in one of the most essential branches of various industries (Priolo et al., 1991, Pandy et al., 2000, and Moharib &Gad,2010).
