Why is To Kill a Mockingbird banned? Many people have come to realize that the award winning To Kill a Mockingbird was banned and challenged countless times. Although there are several offensive scenes in the book, very many people are outraged that their child cannot read this award winning novel. The question is, why is this novel banned?
If they were put in jail, they would threaten to hurt the officer 's family. Nobody could fight them off and they would murder people and even murder their own people if they had to. They couldn’t be held in a regular prison. They would riot and they would threaten the guards. Then, a man named Homer C. Cummings had an idea that would change the world forever.

Most people that commit violent gun crimes are mentally ill, for example the last school shooting that occured on february 14 2018 at Marjory stoneman douglas high school in parkland florida, the gunman Nikolas Cruz was mentally ill. He walked into the school with his guns and shot and killed 17 students and a teacher. He had issues with learning, and controlling his emotions and stuff. (source)

When people around the town found out that Atticus was going to help Tom Robinson in court, they began to call him racist names and to disrespect him as if he was African American. The children of Atticus were verbally abused, being called names as their father was. “That evening a mob went to the jail to lynch Tom Robinson, and it looked as if they would toss Atticus aside if they had to.” (Lee, 278). Right after Tom Robinson’s trial as he was in jail, a mop came and tried to kill him.
The front doors of the factory would always be locked because the owners Isaac Harris and Max Blanck thought one of the employees might steal something from the factory. When they tried to go downstairs, the flames of the fire burned them that prevented them to try leave the building. The factory owners were charged for manslaughter after the fire. The merchants often showed a stunning disregard for the physical and mental well-being of those who attempted to hinder their operations in any way. The case of George Spencer is an extreme example of this pattern of behavior. Following an attempt to report the illegal trading of a group of merchants, Spencer found himself paraded about town by an angry mob before being thown in debtors prison for more than two years. At every point in this ordeal Spencer found himself without aid, as both the law officer whom he reported the crime to and his defense attorney were on the side of the smugglers(Truxes 10-18). Those who opposed the merchants could expect no less merciful of a response.
That positive impact included the eviction of over twenty-five men and women from the respective camps for all sorts of crimes. The Navy didn’t want to deal with prosecuting these people. There were plenty of witnesses, not to mention most had been caught in the process of committing the crime. Instead, they were exiled from the camp with what they had on their backs. Some people in the camps protested the idea of sending them out into the cold with no protection.
