There is no single reason why the dropout rate is so high. The number of dropout rate is not only depending on personal ability, but also relevant to socioeconomic situations mostly. In “Why College Students Drop Out and What We Do About It” and “Dropping Out, Again: Why So Many College Student Never Graduate”, Mark Kantrowitz and Nona Willis Aronowitz illustrated about
Firstly, if somebody has enough dedication then they could learn how to accomplish their goals. Dedicated people never give up no matter how hard a challenge is. Successful people will always try to improve what they’re doing. If an athlete is not good at a sport, then he could work hard and practice to become a good player.

For this reason, I believe that encouragement is important to help one live their life to its full
In the words of Psychologist, Lisa Haisha, “Great leaders don’t set out to be a leader… They set out to make a difference. Its never about the role, but always about the goal”. The most rewarding part of these leadership roles is when I see a student succeed. Whether it is a resident coming to me saying they aced their exam, a first year student that thanks me for the fun they had at orientation, or a student who gets an internship or job after I helped them with their resume, the success of each person that I helped lead inspires me to keep leading and keep making positive differences in peoples

For example, I have always attempted to do the best I could academically, and I am very content with my performance thus far. Therefore, I believe I am successful. In conclusion, the modern (and inaccurate) definition of success, and the unattainability that comes with it has only given an entire generation the false notion that they have failed in all aspects of life. However, once someone realizes that success is the result of what makes them feel fulfilled, and not what others think should satisfy them, they might just realize that they
This means that if a student meets or exceeds their own expectations then they will define what they did as a success, but if a student does not meet their expectations then they will define what they did as a failure. Since, Nieman was not even a core member of his first band, it was very unlikely that Fletcher would choose him, meaning that Nieman had low expectations. However, since Nieman is chosen by Fletcher, he far exceeds his expectations and sees himself as being very successful. Henning also writes about how this expectancy-value theory relates to motivation. Henning writes, “A student’s
It is true that by having good grades you will become successful, but in this modern days, even the students who has earned many awards and scholarships are jobless. " Passion is the drive for you to succeed as it is what pushes you through tough times and reminds you to continue moving forward even when life beats you down. Your self-interest reminds you of the achievements that you could make and will make if you continue to strive for success. When you are passionate about something that you would love to do, the activity itself would not feel like a chore and you would be enjoying every single moment you spent on working towards your goal. Every time that passion is seen, life will be worth living. Furthermore, passion is the guide towards the path of your success as without a passion or your self-interest, you would not know where to go and what to do with your life, hence you would not be able to achieve success.
Taking school for granted will never cross my mind, I will continue to make it the centerpiece of my life, until I now I have reached the peak of my career. If I believe that is not enough, I will continue to be ambitious about education and will not settle until I am content with my place in life. Throughout the help of scholarships I know I will be the successful and dedicated student in school to complete my degrees and start my
When the odds are stacked against me is when I truly believe I am strongest. A scholarship would assist me in achieving my long-term goal of Social Work and being able to help disadvantaged youth overcome adversity. My grades are not spectacular, but they are solid. I am persistent and I complete what I have started.
After reading the book Mindset by Carol Dweck, I realized that I need to improve on my fixed mindset in a few different areas in order to be the best person I can be. According to Dweck, a “fixed mindset makes you concerned with how you will be judged, the growth mindset makes you concerned with improving” (13). Carol Dweck discusses the two different mindsets and the impact that having a fixed mindset has on individuals in the long run. In order to grow, learn and improve, I need to accept failure, be more confident in myself, and develop better study habits.

Overwhelmed with responsibility and everyday struggles, Americans still manage to overcome those obstacles in life and push their way to the front. Everyone has a little arrogance in them, so labeling Americans as arrogant isn’t the complete truth because they have many other traits that contradict the stereotype. The Chevy Camaro SS falsely represents that we value power; although some people consider Americans to be power hungry, we only want to be our own leaders and set an example for others to follow. Our goal is not to bring others down, but rather to pick ourselves up.
