From the NF article “Many teachers also say paying students for good grades creates conflict with students and teachers getting money.” This means that students will be bragging about how much money they get about getting good grades. This also means that teachers will be having problems with the kids. The effect on this is that kids will not get along because the other student will be bragging about how much money they got, and the other student might of not gotten as much money. In addition paying students affects the student and teachers relationships.
Yet if they are being paid for a grade, it is wasting parents money (Pay). If the paying is just for the makeshift, it is wasting money. The money that parents paid could used for their children’s future. (Introduction)(Intro) If students work hard in school, they can earn a reward for future, but if they being paid for grade, they earn reward at school but not in future (Good).
For those who enroll in college the message is “Work Hard and Party Hard” which may be their academic undoing as they fail to attend class or turn in assignments. Expectations for good grades may create stress on the student as they (or their parents) can no longer bully the professor into assigning a higher grade.” This opposing thesis is not valid because these kids which “struggle” with academic success, which is a struggle with some of heir lives, focus on the fact that they are so pressured to do well in school without their parents and have to be a exceeding well off person based off their success.. in which they should be grateful on of their greater problems. This opposing argument is flawed because it shows how rich kids (in The Outsiders, Socs) struggle with not being the best they can be academically, when Greasers do not even the the chance to stress over this topic but instead have to work to support themselves. Greasers struggle more than the Socs because they have to give up so many
Now they have to get a minimum wage paying job and live off of that until they can get into a different school or at least a better paying job. If they live in a strict family than the family will probably be disappointed and not help their child with their financial problems. Now that student is living in a crummy apartment o the worst side of town with a minimum wage paying job all because they cheated. Students cheat because they are scared to fail.
If all the students are worried about is getting good grades to get those scholarships, then they are in school for the wrong reason. I believe that the point of going to school is to learn material not to take the easy route to satisfy yourself by getting good grades. I would rather fail something and learn from it, than pass with flying colors and not learn anything at all just because I wanted the money. Yes there is more of a reward for getting good grades rather than learning the material but what are you really getting out of it if you are not learning anything. Rags to riches, which means you might be the rag and at the bottom while you are in school, but if you learn something in school and work hard you while eventually be on the rich side of things.
Keep this in mind: paying students for good grades will provide students with a motivation to work hard. They will then learn the value of hard work. This will help shape them into amazing, successful human beings. One of these students could even turn out to be the next Einstein, or Rosa Parks. Remember, the fate of our nation depends on this decision.
Some people think that the reason why students cheat during tests are because they are too lazy to actually do the work and because they think that everyone cheats even celebrities
The boredom that results from the busy work pressed upon the kids, has caused for a one way mind set. Gatto states how the education system has embedded the notion in a child's mind that the only way to succeed is to achieve the perfect grade. The human mind is unable to accept this idea because it is natural to rebel and express individuality. Which cannot be proclaimed through the design of the education system that forces unnecessary busy work on young minds. Not only are children bored but they are only being kept busy.
There is many people that go to college, but because of the cost they don't get through college. The elevated costs of college cause not only students to struggle paying for college, but also to struggle financially paying for college when they are done. In many cases, after graduating, young adults who don’t find a job will become poorer, increasing the gap between the rich and the
Additionally, the lack of seriousness transitions into students being uninterested in school because they have to take unnecessarily long tests. Not only do standardized tests cause lack of school interest but they increase students stress. Having to sit through a test that impacts your grade, represents your intelligence, and future adds a lot of pressure to oneself. Overall, when standardized tests aren 't taken seriously the data collected makes it hard for educators to improve education, students lack motivation, and adds a lot of pressure to people 's everyday lives.
Doesn 't every student just love getting their test folders back and seeing good grades? It 's means you have studied and understood what you 've learned, but does getting paid seem like a good way to honor students who did good? I don 't think that is a good way to praise students who did good. Would you like to get paid if you received good grades?
