“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” - Pele. I like this quote because I can see and understand it. If we’re just sitting around hoping to win the lottery someday, and don’t sacrifice the time to work, learn, study, and love what were doing, then we can’t move forward. Success is not about how much money you have or what kind of car you drive, it’s how you feel about your efforts and accomplishments. My first real job was working in a feedlot for my dad. The first summer working there I moved hand lines with a couple of friends on 60 acres of land. We would move pipe every morning except Sunday. During the first trimester of school we would also move pipe every day after school. We made 200 bucks a month. The first lesson I learned moving pipe was to get up as early as we could in the morning while it was still cool. Moving pipe in the sun was not fun, it was really hot and the flies were out swarming us all the time. The job wasn’t fun, but I was making money and it was a heck of a workout. Another job I had at the feedlot was cleaning out the pens. There’s not a whole lot to say about this job because I liked it. I got to drive a truck and loader most of the time and the smell didn’t bother me …show more content…
I got to do a lot of things that taught me many lessons. Having all the those lessons and experiences will play a big part in my future. I learned how to be a good employee and how to manage my time and be more efficient. I learned to work with what I have instead of just giving up when things got hard. I also learned that working for something is a lot more rewarding then something falling into your lap. I’m not saying winning the lottery wouldn’t be fun, but it could never replace the value that blood, sweat and tears offers and the satisfaction you get when you look at what you have accomplished and build with your own
“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do” (Pele qtd. In Soccerlens). Countless people have done amazing things through perseverance. Sonny was an average boy in a mining town, but he started building rockets and learned a valuable life lesson.
Success is something you attract by the person you become. For things to improve, you have to improve. For things to get better, you have to get better. For things to change, you have to change. When you change, everything changes for you.”
“Define success on your own terms, achieve it by your own rules, and build a life you’re proud to live,” quoted Anne Sweeney, formerly the co-chair of Disney Media, President of the Disney–ABC Television Group, and the President of Disney Channel. In this quote, Anne wanted everyone to know that everyone has their own definitions of success and have their own ways to get their. Two ways that people define success is being happy or satisfied with what they love doing and reaching their goals after obstacles. These two features can be seen in the books, The Outliers, The Last Lecture, Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul and the article, Catching Kayla, by Digital Sports News. “Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome,” stated
A person shouldn’t measure their success based on what they own, but based on their accomplishments. Those who never truly succeed, take pride in what they own, rather than what they’ve done. Emily Dickinson wrote in Success is Counted Sweetest, “Success is counted sweetest, by those who never succeed.” In this poem Dickinson describes what success really is, and those why are proud of their success, never truly achieved it. Today, success doesn’t matter at all.
It was an overall positive experience, and taught me skills I needed for future occupations,
I’m going to start with a definition of adversity. Adversity is difficulty and misfortune. In the following paragraphs are examples of people who had diversity and a quote about adversity. And how they worked through it. In almost any example of an adversity the thing that keeps people going for their loved ones.
My previous job involved me being a porter for The Volkswagen Autobarn. Working here really taught me the value of a dollar. It taught me how to really save my money for the necessities and to try and avoid spending it all in one place. Especially because it was money that I worked for. It taught me to appreciate hard work while also setting goals such as my work experience to improve my my finances and goals such as creating connections with the people I worked with, worked for, and customers that I would meet.
To reap you must sew, so without working hard it will be difficult for one to be successful. In today's world competitive world everyone wants to be wealthy and successful. Whether it may be a successful actor, designer, realtor, or inventor luck had nothing to do with it, but hard work does. When it came to The American Dream, people believed that if they worked hard enough they would be able to sustain a better life for those behind them. Success may be described as the realization of any goal.
Due to society, success is mostly viewed as a physical accomplishment. Ivan Chino, National Guard Soldier/NIU graduate, is not only a successful person because of his accomplishments, but more over his work ethic. When asked what makes a person successful, Chino replied, “The road with reaching success comes with many obstacles, but it also involves setting a new bar to achieve a higher form of success.” Clearly, Chino’s view of success is to constantly set high goals, despite the obstacles that come along with them. The reason being is to never settle and strive for a higher level.

Allegory of the Cave by Plato can be applied to modern day society in many ways. The ideology of success in our society is responsible for dictating human thought that success is based on money and wealth. I believe that one is successful when a person achieves their desired goals and aims. Success is different for everyone.
What does success mean to mean to me? It means doing things that will help you in life. I also think success mean to make you a better person. Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to be successful in life. I have always wanted to be the better version of my parents and achieve many things in life. During my freshman year in High school, I knew I was going to major in business. I come from a household of five, my father, mother, two younger sisters, and myself. I am the first in my family to go to college and with that being said, I have always felt the pressure to be the best role model and example for my younger sisters.
Different people have different opinions. Some people argue that opportunity is the most important factor to achieve success. Once somebody has an opportunity, then he or she will easily achieve success. Some other people believe that to achieve success depends on people themselves.
