“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” - Pele. I like this quote because I can see and understand it. If we’re just sitting around hoping to win the lottery someday, and don’t sacrifice the time to work, learn, study, and love what were doing, then we can’t move forward. Success is not about how much money you have or what kind of car you drive, it’s how you feel about your efforts and accomplishments. My first real job was working in a feedlot for my dad. The first summer working there I moved hand lines with a couple of friends on 60 acres of land. We would move pipe every morning except Sunday. During the first trimester of school we would also move pipe every day after school. We made 200 bucks a month.The first lesson I learned moving pipe was to get up as early as we could in the morning while it was still cool. Moving pipe in the sun was not fun, it was really hot and the flies were out swarming us all the time. The job wasn’t fun, but I was making money and it was a heck of a workout. Another job I had at the feedlot was cleaning out the pens. There’s not a whole lot to say about this job because I liked it. I got to do a lot of things that taught me many lessons. Having all the those lessons and experiences will play a big part in my future. I learned how to be a good employee and how to manage my time and be more efficient. I learned to work with what I have instead of just giving up when things got hard. I also learned that working for something is a lot more rewarding then something falling into your lap. I’m not saying winning the lottery wouldn’t be fun, but it could never replace the value that blood, sweat and tears offers and the satisfaction you get when you look at what you have accomplished and build with your own
