Assisted suicide is the practice of ending someone 's life. (Newton, 7) A terminal illness is when you have a disease that will end your life within the near future. Some examples of a terminal illness include cancer, stroke, and ALS. Many people disagree with assisted suicide, but it is the better choice for those who do not what their disease to change who they are. The main arguments to allow this in our country is that the tremendous amount of pain and suffering of the patient will end, euthanasia, and health care costs will be reduced.
The ones who are usually more susceptible to this issue are young adults, who undergo a lot of stress in their school or academic areas, also those who are working may face a lot of tension from work, then end up committing suicide as an alternative to solve their problems. Sometimes in the society, there is a lot of pressure on how you look, or what your social status is, or how educated you are. In some parts of the world, such as India, where men are considered more valuable than women, we may see a lot of women opting for suicide as a solution to escape this injustice, or sometimes even domestic
Suicide is the act of intentionally ending one 's own life. According to the CDC (2015), suicide is the third leading cause of death among persons aged 10-14, the second among persons, aged 15-34 years, the fourth among persons aged 35-44 years, the fifth among persons aged 45-54 years, the eighth among person 55-64 years, and the seventeenth among persons 65 years and older. In the near future, I will be working as a social worker. As a social worker, I am more probable to have contact with clients who are at risk of suicide. Therefore, I ought to familiarize myself with the warning signs of suicide and appropriate responses.
However, as certain as it is since we will all come to this point of our life, it is full of uncertainties. Because of this, individuals come up with different ideas about death and those conceptions greatly affect life and how we think of it. Knowing that we will all come to die makes us hate the idea of dying. Many people hated death because it limits our life. Some condemn it for the reason that it contradicts life.
Suicide is a subject that is incredibly hard to talk about. When people hear the word suicide they cower away from the conversation or don 't talk about it at all. This is the stigma surrounding suicide. People think that if suicide is talked about openly that the rates of suicide will increase. The rates are already up.
Death is the thing that human must confront. Everyone knows that they cannot avoid death. It is impossible for us to know when, where, and how we will die, but we know that all of us will die someday. People die for various reasons such as natural death, diseases, and accidents, etc. Although it is miserable and sad regardless of the reason, there is one cause of death which is very controversial among people in modern society, and that is ‘suicide’ The definition of suicide is the intentional taking of one’s own life.
Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the leading cause of death worldwide since 1950s. In Malaysia, CHD is the number one cause of death which contributes 22.18% of deaths annually according to statistics from World Life Expectancy. CHD is the leading cause of death in United States for men and women. The statistics of The Heart Foundation have shown that every 33 seconds, someone in the United States dies from cardiovascular disease. For many years, CHD has been the leading cause of death globally.
C. Terminally ill people should be allowed to take their own lives through assisted suicide or euthanasia, which is the process of purposely ending a life to stop pain and suffering. II. A. Having a brain tumor is not something that anyone would choose, but choosing to end their own suffering is. Doctors will more than likely prescribe their patients with the means to perform euthanasia.
Moreover, suicide rates have grown up to 60% during 45 years. The rate for boys and girls are also reported differently. Boys are about 4 times more likely to die from the suicide attempt. This is related to the method that they choose such as firearms, hanging or jumping from the height. Although girls tend to think and attempt to suicide about twice as often as boys, the methods they choose are less dangerous – often using overdoses or cutting themselves.
Though, it’s not an assurance that they would commit suicide, but there 's still that small principal percent that could probably grow depending on the person themselves. That depends on how that person would handle the shame and pain that could come after they have committed that mistake. As a part of it, a person could commit a mistake in any aspect of their life, especially on the socialistic part of it. Most of them are afraid of the embarrassment that could come after that’s why hiding away is the only point they and the best hiding way is to die for them to escape. Most of those kinds of people are the pessimistic ones that think that the problems would just come next once they tried to solve it or that they don’t have a solution for that certain problem.
