n Veronica Roth’s “Divergent”, the Beatrice’s personality and qualities make her belong in Dauntless. When Tris was in Abnegation, she never knew exactly what she wanted. Changing factions made her true characteristics blossom, which reflect the ones of a Dauntless. Therefore, even though Tris hesitates about her faction, she does, in fact, belong to Dauntless. This can be seen through her fearlessness, and her array of physical skills. Beatrice belongs in Dauntless due to her fearlessness. Beatrice’s new life in the Dauntless compound demands being fearless in order to make it through the initiations. Being fearless is a part of the Dauntless lifestyle, and she has no problem facing danger. The fact that Beatrice stands up to Eric, and replaces …show more content…
In the first part of initiation, Tris has to prove her physical capabilities in order to prove that she is, in fact, Dauntless. Fighting was not something that was done in the Abnegation compound, but it is almost natural for Tris. Unlike the other factions, the Dauntless are the only ones capable of fighting, and they enjoy doing it. The fact that Beatrice enjoys the controlling power she feels when holding a gun and that she does it with ease is very Dauntless of her. The Dauntless are known to enjoy to control and shoot, and she feels just that. If she were to stay in Abnegation, this power of shooting guns would be disapproved, which is against her true personality, being Dauntless. Apart from being good with a gun, Tris is also very agile. This ability is seen when she climbs the Ferris wheel effortlessly during a game of Capture the Flag to see the other team’s flag. Another example of being physically gifted is when Tris fights Molly, who is considered a strong opponent, until she’s completely defeated on the ground. Tris beating Molly shows she is physically capable despite her small figure. She is so good at fighting, that even Eric commends her on her fight with Molly. Tris isn’t afraid to exchange blows. Hence, Tris belongs in Dauntless because she is a talented fighter and is a natural with
When Dede is given a choice to join her sister’s revolution, she thinks long and hard about it. She is afraid because she knows that if she thinks about it long enough, between what’s right and wrong, she will eventually agree. Her husband does not allow it. “When he got upset, he would just raise his voice. But that night, he grabbed her by the wrists and shoved her on the bed, only—he said later—to make her come to her senses.
Her carefully planned attack and concealed weapon make it very difficult to defend her, but once
But it also could be because she is married to an important Abnegation leader. Maybe she also know more about the initiations from the other factions because her husband works for the government. Why is Eric so afraid of the Divergent? I think he is scared because they could intervene his war plans with the Erudite. Tris says herself: ‘’ He would kill me if he knew what I was.’’
Due to her gender and race, many people underestimate her ability to play the role she would like in the community, which is to keep watch at night and have her own weapon to protect her and her family. Even though her family had died, and she will never see them again
And her reputation also fuels her assertive attitude, it is one of the few things she has and she cares about it. Alike Titanium, “I’m bulletproof, nothing to lose/ fire away, fire away”, represents that she will do almost anything for her reputation, and she has the confidence that she is bulletproof. It can add more power to words and help solve many problem, like bullying. For
The fact that she believes that she deserves the brutality and feels that others don't reflects her selflessness. Then, there was a huge shift in this novel. A shift of power, which was very unexpected. Dana stood up for her life, friends, and future when she: “I pulled the knife free of him somehow, raised it, and brought it down again into his back.
It is crazy to think how pop culture can point to the things it works so hard to reject, but in the case of Divergent by Veronica Roth, parallels between it and the gospel abound. Divergent is set in a dystopian Chicago in which the citizens are divided into 5 factions; the brave, the selfless, the intelligent, the honest and the kind. The story follows Tris Prior, a sixteen year old girl who realizes her Divergence, or possession of characteristics of more than one faction. The novel and film adaption of Divergent include many similarities to the gospel, notably the emphasis on a choice of commitment, the concept that we need more than one characteristic to grow, that salvation is brought about through sacrifice, and that humankind is at its heart, evil.
Knowing how important fighting is to the Dani highlights the importance that they put on their identities as
This quote obviously shows her mental toughness because if she wasn’t, she would’ve never been able to come all the way from Mexico without giving up. Without her mental toughness she never would’ve been capable of the things that she has done.
She leads her troop through negativity and rude words. She picks on girls like Daphne and Laurel because they are easy targets and help build up Arnetta’s inner self. Those girls are independent leaders and have no urge to have a following with their choices. Arnetta sees this and she has envy. She does not have that type of inner strength to just ditch her clan and do what Arentta thinks is right.
However, those that don’t should be killed. Throughout the movie, Tris had to pretend to fall into one category that she chose in order to save her life and not be
Furthermore, her decision to join the resistance reveals her strong moral compass and her unwavering commitment to justice. She is willing to put herself in harm's way to fight for what she believes is right. This decision also highlights Marie-Laure's ability to adapt and evolve in the face of adversity, which is a crucial trait for survival in times of

Delia doesn’t fight back as much. Delia is an understandable person, from what readers can view from what we have read. In my perspective, from the beginning to end of the story,
