Literacy Narrative Assignment When deliberating the word “literacy”, customarily the reading and writing components taught throughout English class come to mind; however, these are just examples of one particular form of literacy. In addition, literacy comes in several styles that don’t obligatorily involve reading passages and analyzing details from the text; in fact, it consists of several styles of cultural, environmental, and financial. Nonetheless, job literacy has specifically availed me throughout the workforce while availing me prosperity in interviews, acquire a well-paying job, and incipient skills I can utilize towards the everyday task.

Rhetorical Article: Larson Succeeds but Anderson Fails E-reader is a new technology that may or may not affect reading practices, so many authors write articles about this issue. However, not all the articles are balanced rhetorically. In her article "Digital Readers: The Next Chapter in E-Book Reading and Response (Published in September 2010)," Lotta Larson claims that e-reader positively affects the reading experience especially for education. The author clarifies that e-reader advances the reader's response which reflects the engagement with and understanding the text. Larson's article is mainly based on a study on two second graders Amy and Winnie who read a story on e-reader and responded to what they read.
This week’s topic on the Jefferson hour is about literacy and my thoughts on this is that I believe less people are literature than there was during Thomas Jefferson time. Different forms of literacy help us discover information and events from the past. When we read documents, diaries, or such related writings we can see how much are writing styles and vocabulary change since then. I think it is important to keep an oral tradition because writings can be lost and oral stories are always retold and remember. Even though oral traditions may not be credible stories than it would be in a book, oral traditions help people come to together, show their originality and keep the tradition ongoing.
Literacy has applied over the course of my education and my life. As an education major, I believed that literacy was an ability to learn how to read and write. Furthermore, literacy has been a part of my education. I have come to an understanding that literacy is a lot more than what it seems. It’s about expressing yourself that includes your opinions and feelings.
The Power of Literacy Throughout history many people who have written about their endeavors in the pursuit of literacy. They have shown through their challenges that learning to read and write have been a key factor towards path to personal success and fulfillment. Within the accounts of such sought after skills, stories of hope, perseverance, heart break and triumph have echoed throughout the pages of history. And through these past experiences new generations have been given different perspectives and encouragement that they to may obtain the knowledge of literacy regardless of their hardships and overwhelming odds.

My literacy skills began to progress, like the vast majority of people. It initially began through the run of the mill bedtime stories by my folks. Later on it was produced much more when I got the opportunity to class and educators started to shape and form my style of perusing and composing. As I would like to think I built up my education xabilities due to the fact I couldn 't get through life without it. Anybody, who wants to gain success, they would need the skills to read and write.
According to Deanna DeBrine Mascle, in her article "Writing Self-Efficacy and Written Communication Skills" instruction plays only a minor role in easing writing anxiety. However, self-efficacy is the biggest component to ease writing apprehension and mature proficiency. Students enter college with weaker writing skills.

In the article, “Literacy, Discourse, and Linguistics: Introduction”, Paul Gee informs the reader about his way of talking about literacy and linguistics and what the terms mean to him. How the term language is a misleading term. As he mentioned, "Language" is a misleading term; it too often suggest "grammar. " It is a truism that a person can know perfectly the grammar of a language and not know how to use it. It is not just what you say, but how you say it.
One of my proudest achievements is my Seal of Biliteracy award. It doesn’t just represent the fact that I am bilingual, it represents all the hours spent preparing for the tests and the interviews. It represents the fact, that despite not living in Mexico I have not lost touch of who I am and where I come from. My award tells a story.
