After all the propaganda that the public believed, they tried making the atomic bomb sound like something really good and entertaining. After Admiral Blandy announced that experimental animals would be used Bikini , thousands more protest letters from anti anti vivisection societies, church organizations, and individual animal lovers swamped the White house, Capitol hill, and the war and navy departments. “The humane societies all over the country will find any ignorant stupid people from beating their pets or starving them”, wrote a woman from Venice, California, “and yet people in high positions are allowed to plan such fiendish things. As a moral standard it speaks very poorly for America.” This quote barely addresses the terrible impact done to the Bikini Atoll Island and the native people who lived there.

Ta’s, Hurt So Good: Fight Club, Masculine Violence, and the Crisis of Capitalism, she discusses how the narrator and Tyler, who we learn at the end of the movie are the same person, create this Fight Club because they are feeling like their masculinity is at stake. She backs this up by bringing up the fact that the narrator, who she calls “Jack,” goes to different support groups where he is surrounded by people that allow him to act less masculine. The first group we see him attend is called, “Remaining Men Together,” where men who have or have had testicular cancer go to express their feelings, she recounts this as an example of her claim because “Jack” becomes a regular attendee even though he does not have nor has he ever had testicular cancer. He just goes to have somewhere he can let his emotions out.

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is an extremely eye opening novel that I believe everyone should read. The novel explores the dangers of technology and what it may do to our world. Initially, Huxley begins to hit us with the obscene customs and lifestyle of his characters. For example, the very first chapter features The Director of Hatcheries touring with a group of students. He shows them the process of fertilizing, nurturing, and hatching babies in countless lab created wombs called bottles.
“The way that man called him ‘boy’ all the time and sneered at him, an’ looked around the jury every time he answered-” (Lee 226). The film has many lighting techniques to create moods for a variety of different scenes. For instance, Tim Burton uses clashing of high and low-key lighting in the mad hatter’s flashback. In the time before the Red Queen ruled, everything was high-key leading to the audience believing it was happy and joyous. Then while the White Queen is being overthrown there is a confrontation of low-key and high-key lighting, leading the viewers to believe that the optimism was disappearing for the Mad Hatter and all the other creatures in Wonderland. Alice was trapped in the courtyard with nowhere to run until The Bandersnatch rescued her and whisked her away.
