They all had different reasons for attacks; Moors wants to conquer, Magyars wanted wealth, and Vikings wanted food. They would damage small villages as they came across them and take villagers as slaves (Document 7). Europe was a target for invaders because they had no military support. When Vikings would invade they broke the defence wall and even took treasure as well as food (Document 8). During the Middle Ages the Catholic Church was the leading power , as a result Christianity became the official religion.

The fight begins and Odysseus and his men get support of Athena. Odysseus and his men show no mercy and kill all the suitors.
The circle that best represents Contrapasso is the fourth circle. The fourth circle in Dante’s Inferno punishes those who sinned in greed. Pluto guards this circle because he is the deity of wealth. Those who are punished in this circle are forced to push great weights by their chest eternally. This is a great example of contrapasso because it symbolizes with their push towards fortune and lavishly jousting.

In this paragraph, I will be discussing the power of knowledge, and how it can be destructive in the wrong hands. I will be comparing some of my examples of things that were used in the book Frankenstein. But before I start with my paragraph, i will give a quote, “with creation, comes destruction. ”And what this means is, with all forms of creation, there has to be some sort of breaking or destruction. Example being, when you build a building, there has to be a spot opened up to build the area, usually killing the grass, trees, and the wildlife around the area.
One of his inventions was called the Death Ray, which is a creation of putting together over hundreds of mirrors and pointing them to enemy ships such as Rome’s to ignite them. Another famous invention was the Archimedes claw, which works similar to crane and was used to carry up enemy ships and dropping them causing them to sink. A third invention is the principle of levers. He didn’t exactly build or invent the lever but he used a system to move water from a large mass of water to another small thing like canards. Many of these contributions could of helped in fighting the Second punic war.
Gunpowder originated in China where someone accidentally mixed three kitchen ingredients (KNO3, sulfur and charcoal) which when heated the black powder burned with a loud bang. Scientists began to better this powder which they put in a bamboo shoot and threw in a fire. When the powder heated up the gas it produced built up in the tube and blew it up with a loud bang. Chinese used the powder to create explosive arrows, they put bamboo shafts with the powder in it on the end of regular arrows, and cannons that shot rats at oncoming enemies, which spooked the soldiers and the horses. The ratio used for the powder then and now is: 75% KNO3, 15% Charcoal, 10% Sulfur.

Scattered across the United States due to being driven from their homeland in the North Eastern area, the Shawnee Native American tribe became a diversely skilled group of fighters with leaders who still stand out in history today. The Shawnee tribe originated from the Ohio River Valley, but were forced out supposedly by Iroquois in the 1600s, and spread out to Pennsylvania, Illinois, or even as far as Maryland or Georgia. As time passed and Iroquois power weakened, the Shawnee were able to return to their home, only to be pushed out once more by white settlers.
