On Friday, May 26,2017, at 1222 hours, Officer Hudgins and myself, Officer Alexander, responded to a domestic dispute on 3408 Seabass Rd. Upon arrival, both the witness and the suspect were sitting on the front porch. The victim was inside the resident at the time. The parties were brought outside, identified and separated for interviewing. The victim was identified as Olivia Reynolds. The suspect was identified as Nicholas Reynolds. The witness was identified as Matthew Carmon, who is the brother to Olivia Reynolds. Matthew Carmon placed the 911 call reporting a domestic dispute at the resident. Carmon stated that the couple had been arguing around that morning and Nicholas decided he was going to pack his belongings. According to Carmon, Nicholas packed his belongings and he had apparently grabbed a bag that was Olivia's. At that time Olivia confronted Nicholas about it. A scuffle began between Olivia and Nicholas. Both pushing and shoving went on between the couple. Nicholas then grab Olivia by the ponytail and slammed her to the ground. In the short story "Love in L.A" Dagoberto Gilb sketches the portrait of Jake, a lower-middle-class person, who is fantasizing of a luxurious life. The omniscient narrator presents his third person point of view starting by describing Jake's vehicle. Jake is daydreaming of a new, luxurious car, and "exotic colognes" and "plush, dark nightclubs" (406). Not paying attention to the traffic, he ends up hitting the car in front of him, a Toyota, whose owner is, luckily for him, a beautiful, exotic, female. Gilb shapes Jake using a touch of irony and lies, turning him into a stereotypical character.
