Chapter 2
The Timing of His coming
There have been countless failed predictions about the second coming of Christ and the end of present day civilization. These failed predictions, no matter how reputable their sources may have been, attests to the infallibility of God’s word. Jesus made it absolutely clear that no one knows the day or the hour when He will return, not even the holy angels before God’s throne. But make no mistake, God has set a date for the end of all things which is not revealed to man and will not be revealed. So there is no point trying to set dates and hours of Christ return.
“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is” (Mk 13:32-33 NKJV)
While the day or the hour is not revealed to man, God in His mercies has not left us without a clue as to when the end would be. When the disciples asked Jesus “When will these things be? And what will be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?” (Matt 24:3), He did not dismiss their question, but He responded with a description of conditions and events that would lead up to His second coming. Moreover, He said that when these signs became evident, His return would occur within one generation

Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later he spoke through David, as was said before: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God” Heb 4:4-9
Have you ever read The Angel of Death? If not, save yourself some time and find a new book to read. The Angel of Death, written by Alane Ferguson, is a forensic mystery where the main character’s-Cameryn’s-former teacher was suspiciously killed in his home. Cameryn must find and solve the clues that trace back to the murderer of Brad Oakes. The Angel of Death has its ups and many downs, but there were still some good things, bad things, there some relatable parts, and I will give recommendations on if others should read this book.
In the early 19th century, the overall atmosphere of the nation was charged with overwhelming positivity. The end of the War of 1812 left American feeling as if they won. It filled the citizens with a sense of optimism and inspiring nationalism. The market revolution, which lasted from around the time of the War til the 1860s, brought about many changes. It brought about changes in American business interaction, social changes like establishment of the cult of domesticity, and westward expansion of territory.
Second Great Awakening: The Second Great Awakening was an Evangelical Protestant revivals that swept over America in the early 19th century. The movement began around 1790 and gained momentum by 1800 and after 1820 membership rose rapidly among the Baptist and Methodist congregation whose preacher led the movement Fugitive Slave Law 1850: The Fugitive Slave Law was passed in 1850. this federal law made it easier for slave owners to recapture runaway slaves; it also made it easier for kidnapper to take free blacks.
Death knows that he is the only one who could do his job. Therefore when Death’s own metaphorical time comes he must bring himself to death. On page 543, Death says, “And remain.” Death will be all that remains, and so he must come for himself metaphorically at the end of things.
The Second Great Awakening was extremely influential in shifting the minds towards reform in people across America. The mentality of the people at this time was closed minded and had acceoted their way of living. Among other factors, Charles Finney played and important role in the success of the Second Great Awakening. “Much of the impulse towards reform was rooted in the revivals of the broad religious movement that swept the Untied States after 1790.” Revivals during the Second Great Awakening awakened the faith of people during the 1790s with emotional preaching and strategic actions from Charles Finney and many other influential preachers, which later helped influence the reforms of the mid-1800s throughout America.
“Independence, free will, and personal effort are considered primary virtues that contribute not only to personal achievement but also to the success and well-being of the nation.” This quote, stated by Charles Finney, means that people must be able to choose for themselves and make their own decisions in order for the country to become better than it is. The Second Great Awakening began for several different reasons, consisted of many different church revivals and leaders, and ultimately had a lasting impact for several more years after the end of the Second Great Awakening. There were several different factors that led up to the Second Great Awakening. Some such factors are listed by Richard Kaplan in his article titled, The Second Great
“Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?” [28] So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly
Many movies and books has mentioned above has spinned themes around this doctrine. Personally doing much research on the Rapture and talking to people about it as well as not being a huge religious believer, I still can’t help but to wonder if this is entirely true and if this could indeed actually happen. I am a true believer on anything can happen and even though there is no evidence that this is coming or not. A lot of scriptures in the bible has led many Christians to believe this such thing could happen and with a lot of faith and trust in Jesus Christ you could indeed be safe. People want to be that believer that will be saved from Jesus Christ and be sent up to heaven to not have to bear with the years of destruction that many non-believers have to face.
It is as inevitable as their fates. What one does with their days shows their character. Knowing that death will come soon is no reason to hang back and miss out on living. The truly courageous ones are the ones who make a great and honorable life for themselves, while still having a deadly prophecy hanging over their head. Free will allows one to transcend the boundaries of fate, which will be forever hovering
Their Creator was alive! I wonder how big Jesus smiled at them. Nobody else may have noticed, but Jesus could hear all around Him the pounding & singing of, "He is Risen!” His creation welcomed Him back, & the Earth was the happiest of all, for it was the first to have felt her Creator's feet touch ground again. Angels flew all around blowing their trumpets and shouting with praise!
He says “Only that day dawns to which we are awake”, this means that when dawn arrives, our only way of seeing
For centuries, Christianity has been used by white supremacists as a tool of oppression against people of color. More recently, Christianity has been used to justify the subjugation of black people through their enslavement and later segregation. Despite this, the black community has often been attracted to Christianity, “the religion of their oppressors,” for numerous reasons, including the hope for liberation (Brown Douglas xii). Black people raised in the Christian tradition have also rejected the religion in recognition of its unjust qualities. The challenge facing black Christians and those who deny white supremacy is whether to have faith in the liberating and positive aspects of Christianity, or to doubt the religious institution in light of its history of oppression.
He states that “there is good hope that death is a blessing … either the dead are nothing and have no perception of anything, or it is, as we are told a change a relocating for the soul from here to another place. As his time is coming to an end he continuous to say that only god knows what will await him after death and no one knows what actually occurs. This claim is reasonable because no one knows the truth behind death, even though he doesn’t know either that is not enough evidence for him to fear
day for God was different than what is associated with a day today. God perceived “time very differently-even thousands of years must pass quite quickly for him” (Kugel 49). God did not create the world in what we consider 6 days today, and Adam did die on the day he disobeyed God. The story of the original sin and the disobedience between Adam, Eve and God and their punishment teaches a valuable lesson that God’s promises are certain.
