Summer vacation is beneficial and helpful for students because it allows them to rest, take a break from work and spend time with family. Students need a summer break to stay off work for a while and have fun during our rest in our break, travelling and spending time with families. It allows your brain to feel more relaxed from a stressful year of non-stop works (Chu, 2016). One way it’s beneficial for a student is that they spend more time, and take of their minds from school or working, as they need more break. But what exactly is travelling? Simply stated, travelling is a process of getting from one place to another. Most people travel as part of their daily routine, not only because it is enjoyable, but also it has lots to offer. Students use summer time as their vacation time. This helps us retain what we learned from school instead of losing it over 3 months of summer break. The 3 months of summer break requires your brain to focus on activities like basketball, video games, or swimming. 3 months of focusing can alter your brain and make you lose some of that information you learned over the school year. Year round school may seem arbitrary to the everyday person who has become accustomed to the standard 10 month cycle that most of the United States functions on. This year round style of school has started to become popular throughout the U.S., allowing students a short 2-3 week break about every 2 months to refresh their readiness to learn. This style of schooling is new to the academic world and has little study done on it thus far, but the benefits it has shown in its debut have been astounding. Students that are in school during the summer find it harder to concentrate on the work that they are doing in school because they are waiting to get out of school into the nice weather. Year round schools make it difficult to learn with many breaks that they are given which can affect them negatively in and out of school. Year round schools should give long breaks instead of many little breaks because it is shown that there is no difference in learning between year round schools and traditional schools. During 2011-2012 about 3,700 schools were all year round schools and these schools didn’t benefit students and teachers in all good ways.
There is an old Moorish proverb that reads, “He who does not travel, does not know the value of man.” That quote resonates deep within me because I have a yearning to use my education to empower those in need. In order to do so, I need to see and experience the world outside of the one I am accustomed to. Curiosity is one of the traits that define the person that I am; because of this trait I always ask questions about the world around me and the people I meet. This is one of the driving forces behind my desire to venture outside of the United States to learn a new language and culture.

These things will improve one’s health. In addition to improving one’s health, it is also better for one’s concentration. The average student needs about ten hours of sleep; however, most students, especially teens, only get around seven hours of sleep. If school started later students would be able to sleep in and therefore get more sleep which would increase their concentration in class.

Why Students Shouldn’t Have Homework There are around 365 days in a year, and in a school year, there are around 180 days. From the beginning of the school year to the end, the most common thing that students least like, is homework. Coming home after a long day of school, then having responsibilities to do at home, not to mention some students have after school activities which take up around 2 hours if not more. Homework for students is a barrier that makes it difficult for them to have any kind of social life, or spend time with their family. Through a biological clock called the Circadian rhythm, our bodies follow the twenty-four hour cycle of each day and night. Throughout the week, postponing sleep and missing meals makes it arduous to concentrate in class. After lunch, I tend to grow heavy-eyed and tired which leads to me struggling to focus on my other courses. In the afternoon, this impacts my body because it does not give me energy, but instead makes me snooze earlier in the day.
