Steam tables for water and other elements or compounds are generated by experimental values. Use of experimental values gives the edge of being exact. The values calculated using general gas equation or compressibility chart may include error. These tables are used for solving problems involving specific properties like specific volume, specific internal energy, specific enthalpy etc. Super heated steam table values are already available in proper tabulated form.

2 Rationale
Computerized steam tables are an effective way to deal with problems of thermodynamics. They save time and also exclude to most extent, the error that could occur while looking up a detailed tabled. It is also easier to search using a C++ program.
Steam tables for water are available in three states. Each of these states have their respective tables. The states are Compressed Liquid, Saturated Liquid and Superheated Steam or vapours. The particular C++ program code comprises of table values of Superheated Steam state.

I. Introduction This experiment uses calorimetry to measure the specific heat of a metal. Calorimetry is used to observe and measure heat flow between two substances. The heat flow is measured as it travels from a higher temperature to a lower one. Specific heat is an amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one gram of anything one degree Celsius. Specific heat is calculated using several equations using the base equation: q=mc∆T II.
In this experiment, the amount of water lost in the 0.99 gram sample of hydrated salt was 0.35 grams, meaning that 35.4% of the salt’s mass was water. The unknown salt’s percent water is closest to that of Copper (II) Sulfate Pentahydrate, or CuSO4 ⋅ 5H2O. The percent error from the accepted percent water in CuSO4 ⋅ 5H2O is 1.67%, since the calculated value came out to be 0.6 less than the accepted value of 36.0%.This lab may have had some issues or sources of error, including the possibility of insufficient heating, meaning that some water may not have evaporated, that the scale was uncalibrated, or that the evaporating dish was still hot while being measured. This would have resulted in convection currents pushing up on the plate and making it seem lighter by lifting it up
