INTRODUCTION As we all know that the tourism industry is growing rapidly in India. The travel and tourism industry has blessed the country. India gets a third rank among the world for its tourism. Our India is known as heritage country, so by this name our country has gain the popular rank among the tourist. India gets the second highest income from this industry. When the industries are on peak positions then managing diversity is a critical to competiveness. Diversity management reacts to proactive rapid change. This is the reason the sustainable tourism focuses on the cultural and the natural resources. Sustainable tourism is the concept of visiting places as a tourist and trying to make and positive impact on the environment. Mainly the heritage value of the place, cultural identity of the place, the natural value of the place contributes to the destination of the tourism. Diversity issues will gain importance because of the effective interactions and communications between the people. Diversity is the reality of the business world. It can have negative and positive impact on the employee’s behaviour towards work and work results. This also depends on how the employees have understood it and grasps it. Similarly the tourism industry is also world based. The companies relating to tourism operating in global tourism have employees from different cultures, languages, ethics and values. These aspects of diversity lead to some kind of troubles for the company management relating to their employees work style.  Different kinds of problems arise because of communication, different work styles and ethics. Someone’s thought and values about other people’s culture and values leads to misunderstanding. This leads to serious problems for work environment. In order to avoid these issues the managements have to know the culture of the employees and consumer as well.  In the tourism sector these cultural misunderstandings often occur between the employees and customers.
