Increase in cotton prices from where the company sources some of its products also added a financial strain on the Lucacio’s men boutique bottom line and together with relatively high global inflation; all these economic factors had an impact on the sales and profit margins of Lucacio’s men boutique. Another economic factor from the external environment that helped to further limit the growth of Lucacio’s men boutique is less availability of consumer credit to both consumers and businesses alike. The recent spike in mortgage rates announced by mortgage lenders is indicative of an economic environment where credit conditions remain gloomy.

More education should inform more people globally to understand to ongoing issues with the garment industry to evoke global change. Consumers should be informed as to why prices of apparel should not be at the inexpensive cost that it is now, because of the underlying reasons of how the company gets the clothing to that price. Inexpensive, fast fashion from stores like H&M, Forever 21, and Joe Fresh may seem most budget friendly but are not environmentally or sustainable globally. The demand for fast fashion should be brought to political action to help make a global change for the endangered workers of the garment industry. Overall, “The True Cost” does an outstanding job at pointing out the impacts of consumers and their fast fashion choices.
Pestle Analysis Political Factor Eataly operates in global environment with their operation spread all around the globe; the operation of the company is influenced strongly by political situation of the country where they are doing business. As Eataly have flexible policies to adjust in an unstable economy (Reijers & Mansar, 2005). Economic Factors The entire planet has witnessed the economic decline and hence the characteristic of purchasing products has been greatly affected all companies without exception Eataly. In addition, the income level of Europe is relatively uneven which makes some people fail to pay for products offered by the company (Chaffey, 2009).
We will now be doing a more detailed analysis on these six PESTEL factors. PESTEL refers to the Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental and Legal forces,
Dolce and Gabbana is a high-end Italian clothing company that was founded by Stefano Gabbana in 1985 targeting women primarily, famous for their superior sartorial content. It was not until 1990 that menswear collections started to appear and made its entrance in Dolce and Gabbana stores. In 2007, Dolce and Gabbana released their spring/summer ready-to-wear collection that targeted individuals in the upper class who wanted to dress casually but still feel expensive. This advertisement caused controversy amongst women about objectification. However, the advertisement also targets the social group of men being represented as dominant, powerful and in control in order to sell clothes and the idea of confidence through wearing Dolce and Gabbana clothes.
PESTEL analysis is a tool that is used to analyse an organisation’s macro-environment. Political Environment The incident of 9/11 has affected the airline industry adversely. The number of tourists to different countries has immensely decreased due to the fear of safety and security issues. On the other hand countries have put measures in place such as strict visa policies and border controls in an effort to combat terrorism attacks.
Francis Aguilar (1967) is the first known reference to the origin of the PESTEL analysis. In his study known as Scanning the Business Environment, he studied the environmental factors that affect business environment and come up with the first acronym ‘ETPS’ which meant the Economic, Technical, Political and social factors (Aguilar, 1967). Later Arnold Brown (1967) focused on the study and came up with a new perspective towards the study of social-technical, economic, political, and ecological (STEPE) factors. In 1980, Porter among other authors scanned the business environment and came up with the current acronym PESTEL meaning political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental factors (FME, 2013). PESTLE analysis is include of political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental factors. PESTLE is a business tool that used by companies to track and analyse the macro environment in which the company operate. This tool is very useful which help in overall growth and development of organization after learning from the past mistake and working for future. The first factor is political factor which include such as law of land, taxation policies, rules and regulation, trade restriction and so on.
2.0 PESTEL ANALYSIS A PESTEL Analysis is a marketing framework to analyse how an organisation is being impacted by a wide range of external imperatives. 2.1 Political Local political factor has a less significant impact on Starbucks Singapore due to strong political stability in Singapore. Singapore is consistently ranked as the lowest political risk country in Asia since 2002 (Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau, 2015). However, the political stability in the global market is highly important as Starbucks coffee is certified as an ethically traded coffee.
