Demographic Information
Bangalore, India is the capital India State of Karnataka. Its population is about 8.42 Million. It is the third most populous city in India. The official language for Bangalore is Kannada, but Hindi and English is spoken throughout most of India. Eight 0ne percent of the population practice Hinduism and 14% practices Islam. Indians are always looking at the hierarchies of their culture they are influence based on a caste system of their status.
They are very conscious of their social order and their status with strangers, friends, family, and other people.

When greeting, greet the oldest or most senior person. This a sign of respect. When you are done speaking with the person or group, you must bid each individual a farewell.
You may shake hands but men shake hands with men and women shakes hand woman. It is rare to shake hands with the opposite sex; this has to do with religious beliefs. If not sure wait for the person to offer their hand to shake. In larger cities it is common to shake hands with an educated person, they are more accustom to dealing with westerners. Keep the hand grip light, handshakes that are forceful are not proper.
They may also follow their traditions in that they may say “Namaste” accompany it by a slight bow. They may bring both hands to the front of the body together similar to a prayer.
While English is widely spoken in India, you will need to check with the local business to see if the prefer English or Hindi.

Indian like to do business with those they know. India like to build a longstanding relationship before they start doing business. You need to build trust and respect to have a relationship with an Indian.
The word “no” is a harsh word in India. Do not directly use the word try to use some like “I’ll try” or “I will do my best” The word no is considered to have harsh implications. Losing your temper could cause you to lose face and show you are unworthy of their respect and
