In the book Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson, the main character in the book is Tyler Miller. The other main characters are Hannah which is his sister, Bethany Milbury, Yoda, and chip. One of the worse decisions he made is painting the school because that gave him a bad reputation. The other bad decision he made was when he didn 't do what Bethany wanted him to do so that was a bad decision because she made a whole lot of drama about it, and made him feel bad and was very rude about everything. He should have just did it and it wouldn 't have been his fault he may have felt bad but he wouldn 't have gotten the cops called because she gets passed around a lot so its not his fault at all I honestly think that everything that happened was all

Matty is introduced in Gathering Blue as a young adventurous boy with a dog named "Branchie" who is friends with Kira. In the previous book, Kira is orphaned and, because of her disability, has to go through trial that determines whether or nor not she is needed in the community.
The theme of self growth and isolation can be seen throughout the novel Speak (1999) by Laurie Halse Anderson, which follows the main protagonist, Melinda Sordino through her freshman year. When Melinda is first introduced, she mentions a secret that she is afraid to talk to anyone about. Melinda later reveals to the readers that she was raped by a high school senior at an end of summer party. Everyone at school acts hostile towards Melinda for calling the cops and ruining what was the best night of their lives, unbeknown to them, that night still haunts her dreams. This causes Melinda to become isolated from everyone, as they only see her as the freak who called the cops.

Laurie Halse Anderson’s novel: Speak, it’s an incredible narrative that tells the story of Melinda Sordino, a grade nine girl who was raped at the age of thirteen during a party. The novel has wonderful amount of details and symbols that explain how Melinda is slowly able to surpass the fears of her past and create a better life. Nonetheless, on the movie directors decided to cut off some of these important details that were fundamental to understand the story. In particular, one of the most obvious modifications make in the movie is the school’s mascot change.
For example, the movie opens with the main character, Melinda, putting on lipstick. This is important because lipstick, and makeup in general, is seen as a right of passage for young women. This movie is laden with symbolism. In another instance, the movie points out a parallel between Melinda and one of her teachers. In the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger readers are introduced to a young man named Holden Caulfield, who introduces himself and begins to tell his story of how and why he left his school; Pencey Prep. In the story, Holden explains how he is being kicked out of school and doesn 't want his parents to know and so leaves school early. throughout the story, Holden explains what happens to him before he must go home and act like he is home from school for a break instead of being kicked out. When it comes to the topic of Author 's purpose of The will of the individual vs the will of the majority some will think the purpose is to show that Holden going against the will of society to rebel, however, I think the author’s purpose of The Catcher in the Rye was to show that the individual will manifest in his desire for isolation comes from his is fear and damage done by fear of pain, failure, rejection, and is unwilling or unable to go along with the majority. This all shown through Imagery, symbolism, and diction.
