Shelter Dogs Shelter Dogs by Peg Kehret is a story about Tyler, a shelter dog that was born in Renton, Washington. His date of birth is unknown. Tyler was a Border Collie, black with white on his chest, muzzle, and tips of white on his tail and feet. Tyler had a disease called Cataracts, which caused blindness to both of Tyler’s eyes. Tyler’s story is about how no matter what you go through, there is always hope. Tyler was brought to the Humane Society at the age of 3. He was abandoned at the shelter with his sister Tipper.
