This study is concerned with investigating whether there is relationship between Syntactical Knowledge, Foreign Language Speaking Anxiety And Students Speaking Abilities experienced by studens of fifth semester in Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Maulana Hasanudin Banten.
The main purpose of English language teaching is to make students able to use the target language for communication (Torky, 2006; Larsen-Freeman, 2000). In line, Richards and Renandya (2002) state ”A large percentage of the world’s language learners study English in order to develop proficiency in speaking” (p. 121). Due to the significance of speaking skill, it becomes an essential part of the curriculum of English language teaching. As Luoma (2004) states “Speaking skills …show more content…

All were managed by the government as well as our experts and practicioners in English language education who gave thir viewpoints to monitior the development of English Language learning. Meanwhile, English teachers in school level make the materials to be served directly to their students by giving the English Language skills in specific portions based on the syllabus from the National Curriculum. They do certain speaking activities using English as medium of instruction. The students are then measured after they complete per material given whether they have already met the standard or not. The evaluation depicts the students’ competence of English language in a whole and per material.
Through speaking, Liao (2009, p.12), by reference form Harmer, stated that student could learn all of the language skills that were interested and interacted by each other with communication wuth their teachers, classmates, other school friends and people in their society. The english speaking skill is also significant to be learned since it enables students to share their thinking in serving information, and so achieve success and posses sufficient capability in communicating through word in real life.
