STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Learning English in a world increasingly interconnected and globalized is worthwhile. To communicate in English is acquiring a working knowledge of the English language, opens many doors in markets and international areas. English ranks fourth in the list of languages with the largest number of native speakers and, in absolute terms, is the official language most spoken in the world. In addition to being the most commonly used in International Affairs, it has become the official language, it is the main language in international traffic and trade. It can be a challenge for shy students. The method has a number of advantages: is good for kinesthetic students who need to be always active in the class. It works effectively with children and adults. The class size should not be a problem. The activity can be simple as Simon says or more complex games involving grammar and other aspects. It is also useful for telling stories.

Due to its approach, TPR method can be used as an alternative to teach students with dyslexia or any problems related to learning, which commonly experience difficulties to learn other languages with traditional instruction. The student may respond physically to show understanding of a message. We follow a natural process in the learning of the foreign language, trying to emulate the way in that learned our mother tongue.

TPR represents for many teachers a useful set of techniques, therefore, it may be effective to increase the communication between beginner learners in the classroom. The school will have extra material as advantages in the English learning process, through the implementation of the TPR Method as basic tool in the classroom.

In addition, the educational system has made changes in the curricula of the educational institutions, suggesting the use of English as a second language, encouraging students to improve their speaking skills for an effective communication.
