1.1 Background of the Study
Tactical heli-lift operation or air-to-ground operation applies the principles of mobility, speed, surprise and flexibility by integrating heli-lift assets and infantry maneuver units to form powerful air assault forces that can project combat power throughout the entire depth, width, and breadth of the battlefield with little regard for terrain barriers.
The 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing (THW) is the main workhorse of the Philippine Air Force (PAF); its mission is “To provide tactical heli-lift operations in support to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) mission”. The 205THW is located at Brigadier General Benito N Ebuen Air Base, Lapu-Lapu City.
The UH-1 aircraft as the primary tactical heli-lift asset of the PAF is employed as a direct support component to the ground forces, and under the Operational Control (OPCON) of the Area Commands.

1.2.2 What is the required knowledge that the grounds troops need from AGOS to perform effective, efficient, and safe air-to-ground operations?
