Tapeworms
Four different species of tapeworms (cestodes) cause almost all human infections that are limited to the inside of the intestines or bowels. Their scientific names are:
Diphyllobothrium latum (fish tapeworm).
Taenia saginata (beef tapeworm).
Taenia solium (pork tapeworm).
Hymenolepis nana (dwarf tapeworm).
All except the dwarf tapeworm are acquired by eating raw or undercooked meat from the meat source that the name indicates (fish, beef or pork). You get dwarf tapeworm by eating or ingesting the Hymenolepis eggs on or in any food contaminated by stool from another infected person. All except pork tapeworm infections never travel outside of the bowel in humans. People who ingest human stool or feces contaminated with pork tapeworm eggs can develop a disease called cysticercosis. Infected persons have multiple cysts in many parts of

When a large number of worms are present, abdominal cramps or diarrhea may occur. Severe fish tapeworm infection may cause anemia. When infections are very severe, this anemia may be associated with an injury to the nervous system. With some tapeworm infections, a person may see a moving ribbonlike structure in their feces. If you see this go to your healthcare provider.
DIAGNOSIS
Your caregiver will look at the tapeworm using a microscope. This will help them decide what kind of tapeworm it is. Detection of antibodies to the tapeworm in the blood may also be useful but is rarely ordered.
TREATMENT
Treatment is simple and effective. Taken by mouth as a single dose. A higher dose may be used to treat dwarf tapeworm infection. A discussion with your healthcare provider is needed to determine which drug is best for a given infected patient.
PREVENTION
The best ways to prevent tapeworms are to make sure:
All fish and animal meat is cooked properly.
Use proper hygiene are followed. Hand washing is one

There are many healthcare disparities involving parasitic infection. One disparity, for example, is that any one can get parasitic infection, it is so easy to be infected by a parasitic infection. Also, to really prevent one from getting a parasitic infection, they would have to be extremely cautious on the food they are eating and the water they are drinking. It is more common in regions of tropical or subtropical to avoid getting infected. We can also get infected through our pets and the disparity in this is that its hard to keep up with everything to avoid getting infected with parasitic
Since most people have a negative feeling towards intestinal worms, Parker combats this negative feeling by using facts. A specific purpose of this quote is to show that helminths have already been tested on humans with positive effects, suggesting that it would be a good idea to continue using them in the future. Furthermore, by providing specific diseases
Approximately ten percent of the victims for Powassan disease eventually die. Because there are more dangerous diseases that are spread by ticks, we should be more intentional about preventing tick bites. This can be applied very practically by using insect repellant, avoiding overgrown areas, wearing light colored clothing, dressing with long-sleeved shirts and long pants outdoors, and checking for ticks after going outside. By following these steps, we can do our part to stop Lyme
The last example is T. gondii is a parasite that is only able to sexually reproduce in cats. When the parasite reproduces, it creates oocysts, which are removed from the cat when it passes feces. Animals, such as rodents and birds, will in time eat the oocysts and become infected. The parasite can also infect humans when we eat undercooked meat and unclean vegetables or do work with cat litter. This is why pregnant women should not empty a cat litter box.
Many people that Edgar Allan Poe loved and cared about died, and his feelings about their deaths were reflected in his writings. Poe lost his wife and mother to tuberculosis, the Red Death, which spread like wildfire during Poe’s time. In “The Masque of the Red Death”, Poe writes of a Prince who built walls around his palace in an attempt to prevent the disease from getting inside. Through vivid descriptions and similes, Poe allows the reader to come to the conclusion that the Red Death got inside the walls anyway, and killed everyone in its path. In “The Conqueror Worm”, Poe writes of a worm that enters a theater during a play and eats the actors and the audience when they are least expecting it.
• Oral antibiotics may be prescribed for certain diseases. In the presence of the most significant symptoms, it could be necessary to administer intravenous antibiotics as well as hospitalization. • Other treatments may provide the most detailed blood tests, administering drugs and intravenous fluids and hospitalization. • The methods commonly used as the contact of a lit match with the back of the tick, covering the tick with paint, nail polish, petroleum jelly or gasoline, can cause further injury to the host (humans, dogs, cats) as well as stimulating the mint to produce a larger amount of secretions containing pathogens at the bite
The main cause of this form of tapeworm infection comes from eating undercooked pork. The worm enters the body through the undercooked meat and then enters the stomach where it then moves into the bowels. Once in the bowels it makes a comfy home and then tries to reproduce where the eggs then can move into the blood stream and around the body. If you consume an egg it can pass through the stomach wall and enter the blood stream and be deposited anywhere in the body. This is possibly what happened to Danielle.
Ringworm is the most common form of fungal infection in the world. It is an extremely contagious skin infection. There was not even any documentation of this until the 1920 's. It is theorized that American soldiers brought it to the United States after World War I from Europe. When you hear the term Ringworm, you might think that an actual worm is involved with the infection, but this is not the case. Ringworm is a fungal infection that sometimes leaves a circle-like appearance.
