The Task Force Smith’s battalion were undermanned and outgunned from the beginning. The battalion consisted of roughly 400 soldiers and included 134 men from the 52nd Field Artillery Battalion. Task Force Smith’s arsenal included six M9A1 Bazooka rocket launchers, two 4.2 inch mortars, four 60mm mortars and 75mm recoilless rifles. The weaponry of Task Force Smith was obsolete compared to the NKPA however, they maintained the defensible high ground. On the other side Cotton Mather, a leading minister in Boston, wrote “A Defense of the Salem Witch Trials” which is favored on continuing the trials (Dudley 26). The Salem Witch Trials are a very absurd way to get rid of the so called witches, and should be put to a stop.
