The instructor is the one who guides the students in becoming the professional they want to be in the future. Therefore, he must be an honest and accurate agent in employing the means and facilities for fulfilling the purpose of education. They form strong relationships with their students and show that they care about them as people (GreatSchools Staff, 2017). Study after study shows the single most important factor determining the quality of the education a child receives is the quality of his instructors. In which, instructors have different teaching qualities which makes them different from one another. These qualities may either be good or bad but every instructor wanted to be a good teacher, just which qualities and characteristics should one possess? That’s why instructors have standards to follow to become a good teacher. In the article “10 qualities of a good teacher,” Southern New Hampshire University, a private, nonprofit, fully accredited institution university says, “Some qualities of a good teacher include skills in communication, listening, collaboration, adaptability, empathy, and patience. Other characteristics of effective teaching include an engaging classroom presence, value in real-world learning, exchange of best practices, and a lifelong love of learning (Gagnon, 2019).” Being experienced in communicating with people comes with multiple benefits. Having that specific quality can assist in establishing relationships, which is important when deciding to teach. Additionally, being able to communicate well can help with employment.

The proposition that ”if schools truly want students to be motivated to do well in school, then schools should be willing to pay students for their hard work,” contains logical fallacies. For example, “but why should students work (learn) for nothing” begs the question. Also these proponents assert the idea that students are doing job (learning) and should be paid for it does not follow or a non-sequitur fallacy. On the contrary, this proposed reward system will cause problems in the classroom. Rewarding students for good grades will decrease student’s self-motivation.

Personal Statement for NQT Year I have been lucky enough to have been taught by some truly inspirational teachers and am aware of the effect they have had on my life and the choices I have made subsequently. My own passion for working with young children extends from my desire to emulate these role models and perform the same inspirational function in the lives of my students. I have always enjoyed being around young people and have supplemented my interests in primary teaching with as much work experience as possible. I completed my PGCE Education course and qualified in 2006.

They are respectful and in turn respected, goal-driven, have strong classroom management, have an inner drive to learn more and teach better, and have a love for each and every student. Each and every day a teacher must show the students they teach respect. If a student respects you, they will work just that bit hard for you. It makes a difference.
Student Engagement A good teacher should know how to engage students in learning activities and be able to respond to diverse students needs in the classroom. The classroom observations I have seen these past week has shown me examples of good teachers. In all the classes I observed the students sat quietly and were always ready to raise their hands and answer questions. In my kindergarten class all the students were really into their assignments and wanted approval of their work from their teacher.
Being a teacher is a journey that has much to do with learning about yourself and being aware that what happens in your classroom reflects only on how are you with yourself. Teachers are not conscious that they project into students, and that affects how things go in the classroom. I believe the first characteristic of a good teacher is that he/ she is always willing to analyze his/her teaching performance.
