Teachers in the elementary years are anticipated of doing a nobler task of setting the foundation for the young learners. They are the teachers who teach the necessary learning skills in order for them to survive in the higher grades. In this regard, elementary teachers are known to be generalists, meaning, they teach all subjects in their respective grade assignments including music and they build the road they are going to tread in the future.
In the educative process, the foundation of education for every learner, which is the elementary level, is the most crucial stage of the students’ educational endeavors, it is because in this the stage the potentials of a person is being developed and enhanced.
It could not be denied that teachers play a vital role in the educational setting and constitute the most important resources of the educational system. According to Otolube (2006), teachers’ aspiration for advancement, growth, increased sense of responsibility and work are the motivating factors that drive teachers’ development in the domain of effective teaching.

The essay, The Seven Lesson Schoolteacher, by John Taylor Gatto addresses educational curriculum with a cynical truth that transpires around the United States. His brutal honesty grasps the reader by using common sense and a hint of sarcasm to appeal to humor. The main point of his argument in my perception, states that we must develop children to be critical thinkers and not always agree with authority. By allowing the schooling in a child’s development expecting them to not question an adult’s words does lead to a population that has accepted being dumbed down. Following what has been indicated, a direct quote positions people deprived forever of finding the center of their own special genius (Gatto, part III, pars 3).
According to the article, Finnish teachers would feel much more pressure when teaching in American schools, due to a culture of high accountability for students’ achievements, frequent observations and evaluations, a low level of autonomy in the classroom, and the heavily standardized curricula. In conclusion students' learning methods have advanced dramatically, from Socratic classrooms to virtual schools. Every day, scientists develop new technologies, so who knows how pupils will study in another 100 years? Classrooms in schools should be places where everyone can learn to create a better future for all of us. Notwithstanding the changes of the previous century, so much more could be done to improve education for all.
In this paper I will focus on the personal history of an artist named Selena Quintanilla. She became famous at a young age due to her singer talents. Moreover, her early exposure in the musical world in the band “Los Dinos” was mainly due to the support of her father. Her participation in “Los Dinos” influenced her to continue her passion for music. I chose Selena Quintanilla as the artist that I will write about due to the great impact her music has in society.

Being a teacher is a journey that has much to do with learning about yourself and being aware that what happens in your classroom reflects only on how are you with yourself. Teachers are not conscious that they project into students, and that affects how things go in the classroom. I believe the first characteristic of a good teacher is that he/ she is always willing to analyze his/her teaching performance. Second the teacher is humble enough to receive input about the development and application of techniques, learning from it and improving.
Change is occurring in society at a rapid speed. Change may be described as the adoption of an innovation (Carlopio 1998), where the ultimate goal is to improve outcomes through an alteration of practices. The above saying can truly be applied on the modern education system. The society in the twenty first century is increasingly diverse, globalized, and complex and media-saturated. In today’s world of technology, the olden education system with its teacher-centered approach, passive learning, time based, textbook driven, fragmented curriculum, low expectations from the learner does not seem to cater to the learning needs of twenty first century students.
Teachers are the life-blood of school districts across the United States. They are masters of their specific grade-level content and work tirelessly to manage the learning and well-being of their students. Teachers are the academic leaders of the learning environment within their classrooms and collaborate with their students throughout the year in order to facilitate learning, and foster creativity and problem solving. However, over the last thirty years, teacher leadership has taken on a whole new meaning.
But, among all the above factors, the teacher has the most important role for efficient and quality learning. Markley (2011) stated that Good and qualified teachers are essential for efficient functioning of educational systems and for enhancing the quality of learning. A good teacher and actions to be taken on his part in the classroom play a vital role in provoking effective and efficient learning on the part of the students. Parents trust their children to be taught and educated at school, to be hoped that they will become good and qualified human beings. A teacher takes an important role in motivating the students to get their success in their life.
Education is necessary for all students. It is a tool which can be used to enhance one's learning and to provide students with experiences inside the classroom to prepare them for later in their life. Teachers are an indispensable figure in the classroom and are called as leaders of the next generation. Everything done in the classroom helps develop children into the citizens they will become. It is essential to understand that students have difference in need, ability, and success rate, but they are all special in their own way.
As we can notice traditional classroom cannot longer satisfy the needs of education in the 21st- century. So we have to make radical changes in order to create the classroom that will motivate students to learn. Teachers today teach using different pedagogical approaches and various instructional methods. According to fact that our educational system is changed with the help of technology the 21st -century classroom should be a productive environment where students can develop the skills they will need in workplace. The modern 21st-century classrooms should encourage students to develop their high order thinking skills.
Malcolm X once said “Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepared for it today.” In the western world education plays a vital role in shaping our future; it determines if we will survive or fail in the world we created for ourselves. Our world is constantly changing and it requires a society that is well versed in understanding the problems deriving from cultural differences and tolerance of one another’s beliefs and perceptions. With the power of education we are able to deal with the problems of economic, government, religion and culture differences.
