If you plan on being a teacher when you grow up there are a couple of requirements to do so. If you can’t do your job well, your student won’t be ready for the next year, and if your students aren't ready for the next year the teacher has done a poor job. You need to be educational for the most part. Here are some more ways of what consists a good teacher. Most people think that just by being smart you can be a teacher, but after reading this you won’t think that being a teacher is that easy anymore.
Fun educational games are a great way to intrigue students and make learning enjoyable. Many students are tired of the same old lessons that they are taught on a white board. Just the word “games” makes the student more open to learning

Students learn in many different ways. Some need to visually see the material; others need to hear it. Finally some students need to manually work with the concept. Therefore it is essential that teachers support students in a variety of ways to reach the full potential. Many students have trouble grasping a lesson the first time it is taught. Students often need reinforcement so that they can fully make sense of a lesson. Working individually with a student who is struggling is a very good way to help them understand what they are being taught. By working alone with the teacher, it helps make the student more comfortable with asking the teacher any question. Not only that, but all the focus goes right on the student. When working with a whole class, it is difficult to do that. Working with students personally can take place wherever works for both the student and the teacher. For example, in the classroom, in study hall, and even after school hours. Adding to that is that If students are not so confident about their work or for me I want to give my best work in, so I ask the teacher to look over my small sentences along with my brief paragraphs So that she/he can help me revise my work and tell me if I need to change something. One more example of a good teacher assisting students when needed is that the teacher must have something like an acronym for students to remember ways to solve this …show more content…
Without the teacher being approachable the kids wouldn’t feel that comfortable with them learning there. That’s why there not only a teacher to you but there also like a friend to you. Basicly if the teacher has a good relationship with the student they dont have to feel like there not so much at school but they will still act like they're in school, or at least they should. Thats where a good teacher must be strict but nice. If the teacher was just a plain old strict teacher, the kids would feel like there in the military and she/hes a sargent and they would be all scared. But if you're too nice It could all just fly out of your hands. The kids would think that they could do whatever they want and you won't yell at them. Maybe if there even to crazy some might just run out the door, i'm not to sure about that one but you never know. That's why you have to play it safe and right and stay nice and strict. But let’s say the sanario is, you're a student. A kid in the hallway shoves you and calls you names and walks away. But this is not the only place you’ve seen this person do this. Let’s say it happened to a fair amount of people., but you know that the reason that he shoved you out of the originals is because today you sat in his seat at lunch which caused him to sit in another seat. But if you tell the teacher all these negatives pop up because you're not sure who's wrong now because of the
We are more likely to give out information to one another if we have positive relationships. It is very important as a Teaching assistant and teacher that we understand what our expectations are in school. For example; when advising pupils to behave in a particular way i.e. being polite, courteous and having manners, it is important that we do the same so that we are giving out a good example to the children so they can follow. It is also important that we have positive relationships with parents as this helps to communicate which can help the pupils when parents and teachers are engaging. It is important that we build relationships with others in school so staff and pupils all get along better.
Build positive relationships with students will help establish a more comfortable classroom environment. Michie have put a great amount of effort at trying to get to know his students on a more personal level, such as through individual home visiting and personal questionnaires about each student’s likes and dislikes about school. In order for students to feel that the information is relevant to them, teachers should make connections and relate to real life examples. Michie uses his past classroom experiences to connect to his students and further sparks class discussion. Michie would try to relate to what the students were going through in their lives to get to know them better.
Therefore, the teacher will then set the child aside and they won’t be able to play, nor be with their friends for a set period of time. Additionally, when it came to positive reinforcement and positive punishment the teacher would either praise the individual or
All students have the possibility to learn and with the proper experience, they will focus. There are many different ways used to build respect and a positive rapport with students. One that has always work is helping the students feel comfortable with the environment. When the environment is positive and comfortable to the students, the student tends to worry less and be natural. Building a positive rapport is not easy and it takes time and dedication.
Teachers build relationships with their pupils the minute they start the school environment. They do this through the way they interact with the child. For example, if a teacher was teaching a class of
This conforms to the notion of “hand over principle”, Dunphy and Dunphy (2003). When the students work independently, the teacher should have his strategies to deal with frustrations ready. He has to make sure that the contents of the task fall within the students ZPD and a good interaction with the students is provided, Wood, Bruner and Ross (1976). Students should be given meaningful feedback which is a very crucial point, particularly a verbal one as it allows a dialogue through talk. Misunderstanding can be picked up and addressed.
Teachers who were stern tend to have well-behaved classes with little to no disruptions whereas the friendlier teacher was constantly calling the principal and dealt with disrespectful students on the daily basis. It was remarkable how as a student I could tell the difference and determine which classes would be easy and which I would need to focus in just from the amount of politeness a teacher
I think it is important for teachers to establish relationships with their students; not only for teachers to learn about their students but also for the students to learn about their teacher. It is also important for there to be a real world connection within the classroom. I have found classes most beneficial when the teachers have branched out from the class subject. There are many things that make a teacher “good”, but it is rare to find a teacher who will make a lasting impression on their students.
Teachers have the power to determine whether their classroom will be a caring atmosphere or an authoritarian environment for the students. Teachers need to curb their ego and model empathy, positive attitude, and leadership skills. She believes that if teachers use positive attitudes when dealing with difficult students, the students will respect the teacher more; therefore, the students will have better behaviors. Showing empathy toward the students will result in the student feeling like someone understands them. Creating relationships with students helps them feel safe in their environment and comfortable talking to the teacher.
Children deserve love and understanding and teachers should honor that no matter what. Teaching students takes lots of patience. All children deserve your attention whenever you are needed.
Not only children learn from teachers, teachers also need to learn from children. A successful teacher is willing to learn. Teachers know that they are encouraged to learn for lifetime and not just for a short time as teacher is a life-long learner. Teacher not only gives knowledge to children and also gains knowledge when they
The teacher reacts with the children to keep them interested and moving. Some of the time the children just likes to sit in the teacher 's lap and not get involved with the other children. One day, Mrs. Lauren sat on the rug during sensory play and two of the children wanted to sit in her lap while the other children wanted to play. Sometimes the children seem to get out of control. Mrs. Lauren always makes sure that she handles the children with love and care.
Same applies with knowing how to treat younger children, I have definitely become better with this type of skill, you have to know when to be serious and a leader, but there are also times to be friendly and have a little bit of leeway to goof around with students when the time is
No learner wants to be in a class with a moody and grumpy teacher. Learners must at all times feel comfortable with the teacher and feel that they are approachable. Also, teachers should remain calm in all situations. I think the worst thing that can possibly happen in the classroom is for a teacher to lose control with regards to any situation. This makes the learners uneasy and possibly even be afraid of the teacher.
Throughout my training, I implemented various strategies for engaging students in small groups and rigorous lessons. My role as a teacher is to communicate effectively, be respectful, and have self-worth and confidence. I did fear making wrong choices throughout this field experience. I set high expectations the students to achieve high goals. Teaching to me opened doors to many students’ lives.
